I suppose I’ll kick things off.

MOVIE #1

The story is about some young guy – in his 20s or 30s – who moves into a new apartment. The ceiling of his new apartment has a nasty blood-red stain on it, and it continues to grow larger throughout the runtime of the film.

This guy also has a married couple for neighbours. It turns out that the husband is physically abusive to his wife, and the protagonist eventually begins having an affair with this married woman. A series of events later, and the husband is killed by his wife. The woman turns on her new lover, prepared to kill him in his apartment, and that’s when his ceiling – with that nasty red stain – finally collapses, killing her and allowing him to continue on with his life.

I saw this movie in 1998. I’d venture that it’s a movie shot in the early-to-mid '90s.

MOVIE #2

An alien male comes to Earth and impregnants a woman. Their alien/human hybrid son eventually develops pyrokinetic abilities, and that’s when an evil alien bounty hunter in human form comes to Earth to capture/kill this hybrid.

I saw this movie in 2001, but it was shot in the late '80s-early '90s. The cover of the VHS had some naked ripped guy standing waist-deep in water, his arms outstretched to a flying saucer hovering overhead.

I remember a movie in which some poor kid was stripped to his underwear and beaten up by bullies in the middle of the forest and then was saved by a group of other kids. After this, they go exploring in the woods looking for something. That’s all I remember. I saw it on TV in the late 90s or early 00s and I’m not sure when it would’ve been released.

Sorry Duracell, I don’t know about your two movies.

A movie I recollect seeing way back in the 70’s revolved around a missing child. When the child was finally found, asleep in a barn I think, someone was yelling “don’t touch her!” It turned out to be a life like doll of some sort. Someone either stuck it with a pitch fork or broke the head open. The actual fate of the child remained unknown.

I lucked out in my other great unknown movie turning up on TCM a few years back.

All I was able to recall about this movie for decades was people in a castle being turned into statues by a mad scientist fellow. If I had recalled Christopher Lee was in the movie, I would have found it a lot sooner.

Sounds a lot like Abraxas: Guardian of the Universe, which I know from We Hate Movies and RiffTrax.

I saw this movie a couple of months ago.

It started with some ship blowing up then this girl dying as a result, then later this assassin attempted to kill this other girl, but these two guys chased her through a street that looked like discount Blade Runner, then for some reason, this assassin turns into some kind of monster. Later the younger guy and the girl go to this lake somewhere and the guy says something about how he doesn’t like when sand gets in your eyes or something. At the end there was this big battle in a desert and for some reason they had dragged Christopher Lee into this and he had a swordfight with this lizard man who just jumped everywhere.

Can you guys help me out?

Good thread idea.

There is one that has puzzled me…

I think it was a late 60s/early 70s American counter-culture/hippy(possibly?) desert road movie, of the Easy Rider variety. I saw it when I was probably too young to understand what it was all about but found it weird and interesting and for some reason it stuck with me like a dream half-remembered. I think I recall a scene with characters blowing smoke rings outside a diner/bar/ranch-porch or something.

Way back in the early 70s I saw an obscure sci-fi movie on Bob Wilkins show that I can’t remember the name. It was a sort of time-travel theme - or maybe inter-dimensional travel with a group of people time-traveling together. It wasn’t very good, but it had one very clever moment. Early in the film, one of the people in the group looked over her shoulder and quickly said “what was that?”. Nobody answered, and the movie just kept playing. Towards the end, the group had managed to get into some dimension where they were traveling through time at a different speed, and encountered themselves back in that earlier scene – but saw themselves almost standing still. Actually they saw themselves moving, but very slowly. They wandered around themselves, as if looking at statues of themselves. They then ran off. Immediately after, the movie sped up the “slow” versions of the people, and the woman said her line “what was that?”, and of course then you knew that what she had seen, was themselves at a very fast speed.

Another movie I saw on Bob Wilkins and always wondered what it was, was a campy horror flick in which two young kids (boy and girl, about 7 or 8 years old) were raised by their father. The father died, and the kids managed to turn him into a zombie. Various social workers would come by and try to take the kids to foster care, and the kids didn’t want to leave their home, so they’d “wake up” their daddy/zombie who would then kill the intruder and dispose of the body. It was hilarious and VERY low budget. I especially liked when someone would drive up the driveway, and the kids would look at each other and say “I guess we’re going to have to wake up daddy again.”

Okay… I’m not expecting anyone to be able to help with this one, but I thought I’d try.

I don’t know if it was a movie or a series, but my brother told me about a scene he saw on television while staying in a hotel, and that he had no idea what it was from.

As far as his memory serves him, it goes like this:
The scene is in a hospital, a man being treated (most likely the protagonist) is in his hospital room. Outside the room, a doctor wearing a doctor’s mask (most likely a villain) is fighting some other guys (most likely some good guys). Then, a nurse shows up and starts throwing knives at the man being treated (obviously this nurse was another villain).

That’s really it. I’d be baffled if anyone recognizes the scenario, but there’s always a chance 😄.

Reminds me of a scene from Phantasm III. I don’t think that is the movie you’re describing, though.

I believe I’ve seen it! It’s called “Most Likely.”

I forgot to mention, that by the end of the scene, the doctor had an ax in his back.

When I was little my uncle showed me a movie about some redneck driving through an amusement park. That’s all I remember.
