Is there a way to get a GOUT synced 1080p version of this? I got the 720p reencode from the spleen but would like to have the higher resolution.

I did the syncing and made a BD25 version with all the english audios and english subtitles. Also I´ve added PT-BR sub and dub.
I’m considering where to upload it. Myspleen would need that I seed it forever. Mega would delete it in a day.
So usenet seems to be the best bet but I’m not familiar with uploading to it, only downloading.

Spleen has plenty of ppl willing to seed i think, it would not be on you to seed forever.

Ok, that’s an option. I’ll check where to upload when I get home during the weekend.

I honestly think that GOUT syncing is the wrong approach. Given that the print used to make the SSE was missing many frames (including several seconds here and there) a GOUT-synced video would require lots of black frames. It would be crappy to watch. Editing audio to fit SSE would give a FAR superior result.

Couldn’t really find anything definitive anywhere on this, so I will ask here:

I am a mac user. I have a Mac pro 1,1 running OS 10.7.5

I just installed an internal Blu-ray burner into said Mac Pro.

What is the best way to burn this and other MKV files to blu-ray disc properly and, preferably, without any reencoding?

I see Leawo has what is supposedly decent software. is that the way to go or is there something better?

I was also referred to TS Muxer, but I can’t seem to get that to open on my Mac without crashing.

I have no intention of buying a PC, nor do I want to put these on USB drives or stream.

Any suggestions?

Feel free to PM Me to avoid cluttering the thread 😉

Seconding this - I have used tsMuxer in the past but I have run into a lot of problems with it. I have a copy of Toast but it does not seem to play nice with .mkv files. Does anyone have a better solution?

What specific problem did you have with tsmuxer? I’ve made BD’s with many fan release mkv’s with very few problems.

I have scanned that print, it was unfortunately infested with mold.

Gross. Is it unrecoverable?

What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.

Ah that’s a shame. Well done for scanning it though! Hopefully Williarob will be able to use some of the currently available Tech in SSE v2

No, it ate its way inbetween the film layers. Not at all unusual for IB prints in England, sadly.

As some have requested I’ve uploaded the ready to burn BD25 of this movie GOUT synced and with the audios from Harmy despecialized edition and some 3PO project subtitles. It’s on myspleen. Feel free to upload it to a.b.sw.

Thanks for sharing. But I am a noob with this muxing stuff so I was hoping for an easily modifiable MKV to add German dubbing and subtitles to the silver screen edition. So I am not sure this iso will help me reach that goal. Or can I make an GOUT synced MKV out of it?

If you extract the contents from the iso file (winrar will do it), and demux the 0000.m2ts file (tsmuxer will do it) from the STREAM folder you will end up with the already synced video stream.
All you have to do is remux it back again with the audios and subtitles you want, also, tsmuxer will do it.

Maybe you will need MKVMerge to end up with a Matroska container since tsmuxer can mux only BD, M2TS and TS.

Thanks, I will try that. Never used tsmuxer but I am willing to learn.

At the time V1.0 of the SSE was released it was mentioned/planned that there would be a V1.1 with some further corrections/enhancements, is this still in the pipeline? I’ve also seen mention of a grindhouse edition of SW, is this something that is actually planned?

Many Thanks

There was talk of a BD version, but I think that’s been shelved.
As far as I’m aware, the next version will use Poita’s (4K/2K?) scan of the same print, with potentially Dr Dre’s colour correction algorithm applied. I’m personally hoping for a bit more Technicolor, and in an absiolutely ideal world, a soundtrack from a print, like the ESB grindhouse.
As for a grindhouse of SW, the uncorrected scan is available, and was up on Myspleen (again, heresay, I don’t have Myspleen)
To see what it looks like, check out Dre’s excellent algorithm test on his latest thread in this category. There’s 16 mins of the scan with no stabilisation, crop, or cleanup.
Maybe if we all ask very nicely, Dre will be able to make a full colour corrected grindhouse to show off his algorithm 😉

Where is one supposed to request for a Spleen invite? I’ve searched the forum and found all threads dedicated to this purpose locked. Am I right to assume that I’ve either glossed over the proper place or members here must graciously hand them out privately?

Most members here have stopped giving out invites because of hit-and-runners, and asking for invites is somewhat frowned upon (especially in completely unrelated topics). Check your PMs.

For the record, there is not a grindhouse SW release. TN1 put up a preview of a reel or two which had some of the cleanup done and the color was not corrected.

I think they had intended to do one at some point. This never happened though.
