Am I the only person who actually prefers the '97 Jabba over the '04?

It’s certainly not cut and dry at the very least.

The 97 one is bad because they maybe didn’t have the technology to do it quite right but it looks like they tried colour/texture wise to match ROTJ. But by '04 they could have done him perfectly but it seems like they choose (Or were told) to do it all wrong. With skin textures and a colour scheme nothing like the ROTJ puppet. The lighting and integration isn’t even right.

VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.

I agree with this. Fake looking CGI or not he is still more similar to the original Jabba then any other iteration of the character since.

You think it’s charming or something?

I think that model looks the most like Jabba does in ROTJ. The 2004 model suffers from ‘too much detail’, and his shape and mannerisms don’t match ROTJ as closely as the '97 model. It doesn’t matter that much, they both suck. Scottish guy is the best!

I didn’t say that. I just said that at least he did just one crazy thing.

Well technically he put two Prequel films over the OT so that’s two separate offenses and he put TFA at the bottom. I count three equally crazy things.

I can confirm he does not live in Narnia. No one does. Narnia is not real.

Worst Star Wars thing? Um…I’d say The Holiday Special, but even that benefits from the original actors returning, and watching it feels like an accomplishment, a testimony to being a Star Wars fan.

Probably The Clone Wars movie.

Not enough people read the EU.

Tell that to the drunken mythological creatures that stagger out of my wardrobe on weekends! 😉

Yeah, it’s difficult to argue against that being top/bottom.

Re: the Palace Dug. The fact that everyone is supposed to be pretending to be asleep makes it’s stupidity layered, didn’t he get the memo?

All three versions of them? 😉

The original versions. I don’t think I need to go into detail on why I (and others) am strongly against everything they stand for.

(Just watched Empire despecialized with my son. Good stuff.)

It never ceases to amaze me how many TPM products revolved around background characters, especially that token collection that had RicOlie_2 as the number one guy.

This by far. The “Shaw was NEVER Anakin” revisionism really gets on my nerves. Hayden takes me out of what’s supposed to be the happy ending of everything.
