AFFECTING. I’m disappointed in Frink for letting that slide.

So I get 16 minutes to respond to something before I’m called out for not responding to it?

Sounds reasonable.

You had already responded to it after it happened and didn’t mention it, so yea.

^He’s talking about Lord Haseo’s use of effecting, not mine. He stated this in response to me on the last page. You’re post came directly after Haseo’s.

I’m still shocked at the number of people who have even seen Mask of the Phantasm.

Oh. Well, I think we’re just seeing the affect of skimming certain posts.

What’s so hard to believe about it? It was a theatrically release feature, and comes highly recommended.

Because I had never heard of it before in my life. I also have no recollection of it ever being in theatres.

(though I find everything but Jack’s performance to be pitifully average)

No. Michael Keaton is Batman, there is no other. Apart from Adam West perhaps.

Not enough people read the EU.

Based on what I’ve seen

  1. The Dark Knight: 9.1/10 (only other film besides ESB that I consider to be nearly perfect)
  2. Batman Begins: 8.3/10
  3. The Dark Knight Rises: 8/10
  4. Batman: Mask of Phantasm: 7.8/10
  5. Batman 89: 6.8/10 (other than Jack’s Joker there aren’t any redeeming qualities about this popcorn flick)

What is with the in depth decimal points? Can’t everything just be simple?

B:MoP was clearly a 7.6/10 and giving it a 7.8/10 is probably the most ludicrous thing I’ve read here ever.

Sure doesn’t look like Batman to me. Especially with the lip puckering thing he did.

The only time he looked a bit intimidating is when they had his face obscured by shadows. He had a nice Bat voice though.

But compare him to Bale in terms of looks and you’ll see how silly and wrong he was for the role.

I have them because they’re a big difference between a 7/10 and an 8/10 film.

You can’t compare him to Bale if you’re ignoring Bale’s voice, which was the single worst thing in any Batman movie ever.

I agree, Bale was silly and wrong for the role! But seriously, they should have fired the costume designer on that series. They never bothered to give him nose holes to breath through so Bale constantly made weird faces while breathing through his mouth creating a weird nasally gravel voice. He looked and sounded ridiculous.

At least Keaton had class.

Say what you will about the voice at least Bale was somewhat intimidating while Keaton was laughable in the cowl. Only a good replica of his Batman looked scary

Also Bale was in Batman shape unlike Keaton.

EDIT:

fyi Batnipples were the worst thing in any Batman movie.

I’d say Bale was laughable – he, his voice, and those atrociously ugly costumes he had to wear.

I agree that Keaton had a better costume and voice but he didn’t look like Batman, he wasn’t in Batman shape and he didn’t have the screen presence that Bale did. If I were a criminal I would not want to encounter Bale’s Batman. I wouldn’t want to encounter Keaton’s either but I would see him as less of a threat.

And now Ben Affleck is making them both look like shit.

I’m sorry – who? Surely you mean an actor I respect, from a movie the existence of which I do not choose to deny?

Then you need to watch the Netflix series because Charlie Cox is Daredevil.
