Thanks, I was just adding some of my own stuff to some already great work I’ve seen on here, so I don’t want to deflect from that, or even take credit for it. The covers and inserts that some of the other guys had done were almost perfect for what I was looking for.

Very Nice Set… do you plan on putting up a link for download?

SET 1 - A mix of several elements I’d used from this site - Thank you to everyone especially the designs provided by RonLim, and whomever made the VHS and widescreen sleeve designs that were so perfect. I added several new elements, retouched / replaced some of the images for color balance, and based the slip case off the laser disk box

SET 2 - My favorite covers from the widescreen vhs days with manga insides. These also had insets i’m not showing.

SET3 - based on laser disk sleeves

I’ve also been a lurker for a while. I made a custom set for I-VI last fall, inspired by one of Video Collector’s sets (but mine was an inferior knockoff for personal use), but now that VII has been added to my collection, I’ve been hit with the bug to do a new set in a new style, again inspired by something I saw. Here’s the WIP of TPM, apologies for the low quality (suggestions/criticisms welcome):

And here’s the old covers:

Yes mate. I just need to package up the files and get them print ready. I’ll do that weekend.

Awesome, Thanks.

Would be really cool to see what people could make of these: http://imgur.com/a/GiYtJ.

Would be cool if there were matching ones for the whole saga.

Like a podracer for I, maybe the speeder from the coruscant chase for II, I guess Padme’s ship parked on mustafar would work for III, and Rey’s speeder with the crashed destroyer in the background for VII.

Would anyone be willing to design some slipcovers for the OT in the style of the Force Awakens slipcover? Meaning each film would have STAR WARS against a black background on the front with characters from the specific film within the letters? I think that would be pretty cool to keep them all consistent.

Shouldn’t be too hard. I’m a bit busy today but I’ll try to knock something like this out tomorrow.

I did one for SW.

The lighter spine is where you glue them.

Wow that’s perfect. Thanks!
I’ve never printed slipcovers before, do you have any recommendations on what kind of paper/glue to use to make it look as authentic as possible?

I would just use a glossy card stock of some kind. As for glue, just about anything that will hold.

Also, if it’s not too much to ask, would you be willing to tweak this one to remove “A New Hope” from the front and spine?

Ha! I always ask the same question on Star Wars covers! Even tho it does throw off the looks of the spines matching up! Would rather not have the new hope on there.

Can anyone recommend a service where I can put my images. They’re not showing up at the moment because the traffic exceeded my allowance from my own site where they were stored. Ive also got the files ready to share. Sorry about the delay for those who messaged me. The only thing I can’t share are the VHS and widescreen outer covers because they were done by other folk on these boards (and are probably still available from them - just need to do a little digging), but the slip cases and all the inside sleeves, disk labels and inserts are ready to go, as well as the full set of laserdisc type designs.

Updated with higher resolution poster art:

Wihtout A New Hope:

And the back without A New Hope (if you want anh, just use the back previously posted):

I wanted to do my version of the TFA-style SW logo, feel free to use it. Not exactly on topic but still.

Edit: what the hell, I made the sequels too. It was a fun image puzzle to make, although ROTJ was nearly impossible with its poster!

Well that didn’t go exactly as planned…

Any suggestions on how to print this properly? Obviously the color issue is the main thing, but it also printed way too big, what settings do I need to change to make sure it prints the proper dimensions?

Author

Well I took the measurements directly off of the TFA slipcover. You might want to make sure your print settings aren’t doing any resizing.

As for the color I really have no idea. Check your ink?

Maybe you set it up wrong. Like using the Photo Paper setting to print on card.

I recommend Corel Draw to make precise dimensions.

Has anyone else attempted to print it out as is with more successful results?

These are all amazing!! Though, is it just me or is set 2 using my covers as a base? Anyway, I’d love to get a download for my own!
