That dialogue reading makes Hayden look pretty good in the movie

My favorite line of dialogue from Mace is a toss up between “You ready for this boy?” and “C’mon, fight me!” HA!

He did much worse and had even more silly dialogues. In an alternate videogame-like reality :\

Back in the day I was sad that game didn’t come out on PC. I do like that LucasArts had some fun by changing up the ending with a riff on the Jedi Knight dark side ending if you play as Anakin.

“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”

When I first heard about it, I think my parents had already bought me a PS2, and boy was I excited to both see the movie and play that videogame! Too bad it was very short, boring and had all those laughable cutscenes :\ I mean, even TPM’s videogame felt more polished and complete 😄

TPM had a video game? The only one I remember was the podracing one for the 64.

Yep. Someone around here was livestreaming their playthroughs a few years back. There are lots of videos on youtube for it. You could do all sorts of wrong things, like killing Shimi one episode too early.

Anybody read this?

Statistical, but interesting facts about ROTS. A lot of text, but very insightful especially in the second half.

Quote:

"I’m shocked by it, but when I finished watching [ROTS] it I kind of longed to just go back and watch Episode I. That’s right. The Phantom Menace. I think The Phantom Menace - with all its many problems - is a better movie than Revenge of the Sith. I can’t help but shake my head when I try to say that sentence out loud, but I think I have to stick with it.

Even the ridiculous love story of Attack of the Clones seems palatable compared to Revenge of the Sith. At least it’s a story."

Rogue One is redundant. Just play the first mission of DARK FORCES.

L8wtr keeps it while cutting many bad lines, and cuts PLENTY of Palps either falling over chairs or making weird facial expressions.

L8’s version of the fight is better than the theatrical, but it’s a little bit “sloppy”. The available material is hard to cut, since the theatrical cut is already quite short. Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing his v2 take on this curiously funny scene.

The question should be What DID you like about ROTS.

I liked the duel between Mace and Palpatine.
I liked Hayden Christensen’s face acting
I liked the Order 66 scene (except Anakin killing children)
I liked the final duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan, despite it being a CGI fest and being over-the-top.

That’s about it really.

What about the Padmé’s rumination scene ? Or the overture ? Or the weird opera sequence ?

I like:

-The opening camera shot, which is visually nice, but still not very special, as it is all CGI.
-All the music in general
-Grievous’s introduction, with the cool music, sadly once he starts talking everyone laughs.
-Palpatine goading Anakin into killing Dooku
-Anakin killing Dooku
-The banter when Anakin, Obi-Wan and Palpatine are trapped in the ray shields
-“Another happy landing”
-Anakin finding out about Padmé’s pregnancy
-Grievous meeting with The Emperor
-The panning shot of Coruscant, to Padmé’s apartment
-The opera scene
-The wookiee battle on Kashyyk
-Obi-Wan saying goodbye to Anakin
-The buildup to the Obi/Grievous fight, not the actual fight
-Palpatine revealing himself
-The entirety of Order 66, child murder included
-Anakin killing the Separatists
-The final three-ish minutes of the Mustafar duel, where they are finally visibly getting tired
-The immolation scene
-The birth of Vader, up until the “NOOOO!”
-Padmé’s funeral
-The Death Star construction scene
-Leia on Alderaan, and Luke on Tatooine

Wow, I like way more than I thought. There is as much bad things though, and they are more substantial.

Not enough people read the EU.

People are taking this contrarian shit too far. That’s like saying Batman and Robin is better than Batman Returns or Terminator Genisys is better than Terminator 3.

He is right, to an extent. I know I’d rather watch AOTC instead of ROTS simply because of nostalgia, but I can understand seeing it as better for other reasons. I have considered placing AOTC as better.

EDIT: And your Batman comparison is invalid, because Batman Returns is a fantastic film, being compared to Batman and Robin, which is a massive crap-fest. The Terminator one works though, as both of those you mentioned are crap-fests.

Well to me and many others ROTS has a few redeeming factors especially the score being the 2nd best of the PT. AOTC doesn’t even have that good of a score much less anything else. Say what you will about the Mace vs Sidious duel but that was a lot better than Anakin vs Dooku and especially Yoda vs Dooku. I at least found the rematch between Anakin and Dooku and some of the duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan to be entertaining.

Fantastic? It’s worse than the painfully average droll that was Batman 89, but nostalgia is one hell of a drug. I’ll let someone else speak for me.

It has a 7/10 on imdb and 80% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics with 73% from the audience. I think 8.5 and above should count as fantastic but that’s just me.

Coming from someone who apparently likes the idea of Yoda in a lightsaber duel.

For the record I haven’t thought anything along those lines since I was like 15.

I think there’s a sizable difference between a good or great film and a fantastic one. The number of movies I consider fantastic can be counted on one hand.

It isn’t as good as Batman, but that’s probably one of the best superhero films ever made IMO, regardless of Rotten Tomatoes. I’ve never understood why people hate the Burton films so much. And your point is further invalidated by using Cinema Sins as your means of telling me why BR is bad. I love CS, they’re funny, but the problems pointed out in the videos are nitpicks that don’t matter, possibly aren’t even actual problems, and are purely for entertainment. They even say that they’ve sinned films that are in their own top 10 lists.

Looks like I’m getting off topic.

Both nitpicks and glaring flaws are in the video.
