Hi there my first time posting on here as I just signed up. Still waiting to see what deleted scenes are like on the Blu-ray, and I’ve read there’s no plans for an extended cut.
I think it would be interesting if someone was to make a fan edit one, especially adding maz’s deleted scene where she uses force powers on the storm troopers.
If the special effects are complete on the deleted scenes then I’m sure people will do it, and if no one does than I will.

Iv heard the Maz scene will not be released but I as mentioned in his own thread the possibility of an extended edition but with certain corrections like xxtelecine is thinking of making. Like restoring the original glow of the falcon and fixing the sabers. And the “searching the falcon” and “speeder chase” scene are the two prospects I most desire to be put in to better setup emotional impact of a later scene in the movie involving Han and Kylo. And the speeder scene adds extra fun action and explains why Rey has Finns coat on and why they just got off a speeder. But really, take a look at xxtelecine simply playing around with the images. It’s very impressive!
It will probably take about 5 minutes to make with all of the sources ready, so someone will definitely make it

I’m not thinking player-selectable like foreign language subtitles, but removable after you rip it like alien language subtitles

Still seems extremely unlikely.
I wouldn’t really care if an extended edition was made with the timestamps intact. It doesn’t really detract from the experience to me.

It really is too bad how much material is being left off of this release. I am sure most of it has to do with missing VFX (probably quite a few green screen shots), as well as usually withholding. That being said, it would have been amazing to have the supposed scene where Leia is talking to the Republic about the First Order. This could add some information that was very lacking in the original cut.
Furthermore, there is the Constable Zuvio character who had his own toy yet is only a background character in the film. There is obviously a lot of things that we will see in the future. I understand they would want to hold some stuff back, but 6 deleted scenes that are all under a minute long is really disappointing in my opinion.
My guess is they will one day release the three trilogies for sale as well as a complete saga pack that has a bunch of bonus features as an added disc.
