Unless of course they are the ones who eventually cause the trouble that will undoubtedly happen.

That’s a bit more viable. Maybe they and The First Order attack in unison. Just like how Kanjiklub and the other guys were going to give BB-8 to The First Order; when the occasion calls for it they work in tandem. Would be kind of like how Vader used bounty hunters in ESB.

Admittedly it did seem like it was on the same day they were filming a speeder exploding, so hopefully it’s just for an effects shot

The Hobbit was in theaters (at least here in the US) at both frame rates so I was able to choose the “proper” one.

It looks to me like this is some kind of society event. I’d been leaning in that direction anyway since there are almost as many white costumes as black ones. Looks more like evening wear than mourning garb.

This belongs in one of potentially four different threads, so apologies if I’ve chosen poorly, but anyway: do we think JJ’s weak-ass explanation of why R2 booted up when he did and had the map might have just been spoiler prevention for VIII? I think it would make a lot more sense if it turns out that Luke gave part of the map to Lor San Tekka intending to have him to give it to Rey and send her to Leia when the time was right, and programming R2, whom he’d given the rest of the map, to come back online when Rey shows up wherever R2 is (presumably with Leia). That’s so much better than saying BB-8 jostled R2 back online and it just took a while for his system to load, and that he downloaded the map when he was plugged into the Death Star in IV. I’m hoping this is revealed with some sort of “how did you find me?” exchange between Luke and Rey early in the next film.

These guys need to play a pivotal role in the plot of the sequels.

I’d love to see this battle unfold and it’s been confirmed that this not the slaughter of Luke’s students. I wonder if this could be the climax of Episode IX.
