Italian subs are welcome, as usual... (°°,)

Sadly my projects are lost due to an HDD crash… 😦 | [Fundamental Collection] thread | blog.spoRv.com | fan preservation forum: fanres.com

Can you send some my way? All the ones on subscene don't work.

So hype for this. From memory, the restoration looks damn good details wise, but it was really blue.

Thanks for the work PDB!

 Thanks still plugging away

Dope! It's a shame that they didn't scan all that unseen footage when they restored the film and chuck it as extras so we could make a megacut of the film.

Will keep an eye out for the release :D

For anyone who still cares about this project. The completed MKV is up at the internal organ. I've updated the first page with the project details. Alien is coming soon. I'd like to thank everyone who helped me:

Jonno: for capturing the Criterion Collection LD

Doombot: for advice, help and testing

Buster D: for the various LD soundtracks

StarThoughts: for the music score to fix the ending

Spaced Ranger: for color correction advice

captainsolo: for information about the film and a 35mm showing

MrNiceGuy: for distribution.

I was thinking more like:

Spaced Ranger: for color correction advice

.

But that's only because I like pretty pictures.  :D  Actually, thanks for the nod!

If not too much bother, would you post/link to matching .PNG's of the sources I was testing. It's anomalies still haunts me and I'd like to further explore it with uncompressed sources (and, maybe, matching samples from all your sources?) Loose ends drive me Royally Batty.

I knew I should of included more flair :)

Did you just want a PNG of that Decker/Rachael scene, Spaced Ranger? From the LD and BD?

That same shot would be perfect, as it showed the "noise anomaly" in my test-process.

If you have more than those 2 sources, would you send those as well (uncompressed .PNG and, of course, the identical frame for each)?

Whenever you get a chance. Thanks again!

@ PDB
Check your PMs, now called PTs (“private topics”).

Thanks, but … if this is easy for you to do …
could you get 5 sequential frames, from each source (matching frames of that same shot), and save them in non-compressed format (.PNG)?
Aside from not having saved compression-artifacts in the caps, I wanted to test if temporal-noise-reduction would produce an even better HSL recombination.

This appears to have been removed from the spleen in the recent happening. I wasn’t able to acquire it before it was gone, and I was really looking forward to seeing it. To get to the point, will this be put up anywhere else in the future? Or was it already put up somewhere else?

EDIT: Even if I can’t get it somewhere, I want to find the “no narration” audio track at least. Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

Its still there. Try searching for Blade Runner (regrade to the Criterion Collection laserdisc). I do expect it to be deleted in the coming holocaust. A better bet is to try the bt site which is more friendly to these projects now.

Sorry, I looked for it earlier, just typed in “blade runner”, didn’t work, so I did “bladerunner”, didn’t work, so I checked for some other things. Searched “35mm”, and only three things came up, meaning all of those other things must have been deleted, and that just made me think that the holocaust had already occurred. When I search now, everything comes up as normal. I just don’t know what happened. Thanks for replying.

No worries. Thanks for searching out my project.

@ PDB

I was wondering … may I make more work for you?

I was searching for other books Taschen had published, like their The Making Of Stanley Kubrick 2001: A Space Odyssey. (A really excellent book! Staff professionals had full access to Kubrick’s archives and produced high quality, spot-on, true-color photos of things never released before.) While looking quickly through the myriad of pictured book covers, this grabbed my eye …

This wasn’t a dedicated book like the 2001:ASO one, but it sure could show how film and sets really looked without all the lost-in-time versions with which we have to deal. Hopefully, there are pictures from the book floating around the Internet to determine it’s use as a color key.

Thanks. Always looking for new sources. Not sure how much production photos help but the blue and the golden tint are more in keeping with the criterion laserdisc’s colors then the BDs

Speaking of the 2001:ASO and Blade Runner connection (Taschen books), how’s this one …

Rachael: Do you like our owl?
Deckard: It’s artificial?
Rachael: Of course it is.
Deckard: Must be expensive.
Rachael: Very.

.

Did you notice it? Here’s a clue …

2001Italia blog - “Ivor Powell shares his memories of ‘2001’ and beyond” wrote:

“It’s possible, although not 100% sure, that it was him, drawing from his experience in 2001, that suggested Ridley Scott to use a front-light technique in order to achieve that eye-glowing effect for the replicant’s eyes in Blade Runner.”

Is this on Usenet or anywhere else by chance?
