Why should you?
I believe the normal response to having something you care about turn to crap, is to at the very least complain about it. So why shouldn’t I?

because I have been here fore over 10 years and this place has become special to me. It is my internet home. It would take a lot for me to leave.

I’ve been here pretty regularly since 2003, but never was a big frequenter of off topic. I guess I’m dangerously single-minded. But I agree off topic has been full of garbage lately, a lawless wasteland. It’s a place ruled by anarchy now, so we should get comfortable with chaos.

Well I don’t want you to go, but I wouldn’t hold your breath on this becoming a serious discussion board. At least without silliness. More discussion to balance it out would be nice, but wanting people to refrain from having fun isn’t the solution.

I see the current wave of silliness as a means of compensating for the departure of so many once-regular posters from this corner of the forum. It’s our way of keeping off-topic from becoming a complete graveyard.
Still, I sympathize. I’d like to see the more serious discussions remuse, too.

What I mean to say is, go ahead and complain. These off-topic forums aren’t strongly moderated (on purpose), so if you’re looking for more structured content, try the Discussions link at the top and choose something other than “Off Topic.”
Now I certainly don’t want you to leave, especially since you’ve been here so long—as I wouldn’t be as entertained without you (and TV’s Frink of course)! Now, I’m pretty new here (and may be part of the problem), but I wouldn’t want you to dismiss me simply because I’m “forum-wet-behind-the-ears.” As I understand it, there’s perhaps a complaint forum higher in the list where you could lodge a formal complaint that the “Off-Topic” forums don’t seem to have any rhyme or reason (they are strangely off-any-topic), and perhaps they don’t stick with the OP’s initial subject line…BTW, if anyone’s got an invite to the BLU-Torrents site…um…I digress…where was I?

I wish to complain that no one else complained about the pixels link…
but seriously, I have been on lots of boards for years and have seen a lot of them go downhill because the regulars started drifting away after so many years (life, boredom, etc)…it happens. You hope to get some new blood in to revitalize/infuse the boards with fresh perspectives/humor/thoughts etc. Sometimes it happens, sometimes no. I’m new here but I like goofing around in off-topic area BUT also occasionally will try to spark some serious threads…I have silently been reading some of the threads here for a year or so but haven’t made an account until just a week or 2 ago…wanted to get a feel for the place and the regulars…anyway…I like this place
