P.S. Isn't "mysterious mysteries" redundant?
- The creators of the set....

- Hi guys! I gave this name to the set as it was and is a mystery as to who created the set but the main reason is that I released this on "MYSPLEEN" which started out as an INVADER ZIM episodes mirror/torrent site (the phrase 'MY spleen!' is a quote from the Episode "Dark Harvest") SO being an Invader Zim fan myself I figured the name "Mysterious Mysteries" was apt.

THANKS for all the updates guys!!!

if you look at the files that you downloaded they will start from xxxxx.part01.rar and continue all the way to xxxxx.part93.rar, please select part01 and open with WinRAR, click on the extract button and point to the directory where you want it extracted, come back a few minutes later and WinRAR should have extracted the full contents of the downloaded archives into the specified folder.

If WinRAR fails to extract the files, then you will need to use QuickPAR. You will need to use PAR files to recover the missing volume. You can find QuickPAR on the link below. With QuickPAR select the "Mysterious Mysteries - SW pre-anh.par2" file, QuickPAR will then scan each RAR volume and will mark the bad ones in red or orange depending on the error, once all the volumes have been checked it should present you with a button to 'repair' the missing / damaged volumes. Once it's repaired, go back to the instructions on the top of this message to extract the files from the archives.

QuickPAR
WinRAR

Hope this helps...

I've just finished watching the Mysterious Mysteries disc. Wow!

Before I heap general praise on it, I'd like to point out four (very) minor problems with the disc.
Now, I'm not sure if some of these were cause by my viewing set up - streaming the disc over my LAN to a modified PAL Xbox running XBMC - or the disc itself, but here they are.

1) There's a slight horizontal wobble pressent. This is most noticable on the opening and closing credits.
2) Two lip-synch issues ("This station is now the ultimate power..." and "I have the death penalty on...") I'd need to check my original tapes to see if these were present on the source material.
3) No "Close the blast doors! Close the blast doors!". I realise there's some debate around if this was originally in the mix - I beleive that it was.
4) Missing scene! I'm positive there was a scene when Vader told two TIE Fighter Pilots "A gorup of fighters have broken off from the main group - come with me". Am I imagining this scene?

Other than that... wow! Total Star Wars Geek heaven. I was initially worried about the non-anamporphic nature of the disc, but using the zoom mode on my DVD player and TV didn't noticably reduce the picture quality. Sound and picture were both beautiful.

Brilliant.

atodorovic...thx for the post. Keep on sharing the good stuff...its appreciated by folks here and the fans on the newsgroups. GREAT POST!!!

wadetv...my usenet tutorial will have sections dealing with both rar and par2 files. If you can't figure it out yet, just save EVERYTHING to a temporary file on your harddrive and hang in there. Check out the "usenet tutorial?" thread for the progress on my step-by-step how to. I just started it last week and it will be no longer than a week before I'm done and you'll see EXACTLY what to do with everything.

Wipe them out...all of them.

"Close the blast doors" was in the 1.0 mix only. The scene you mention, I'm quite sure I saw it there too (or, at least in the XP77:4EB, which is based on the Mysterious Mysteries version but with the 1.0 mix).

The line is simply "Close the blast doors!". As stated, it was in the original mono mix. It was not in a stereo mix until the 1997 SE. Period.

No, you're not imagining the scene, you're imagining that it's not on the disc. It's there. And for fun, watch that scene and notice that the background changes between the two shots of Vader.

This DVD looks to me to be the best laserdisc transfer of ANH that I've ever seen.

Is there Empire and Jedi discs to go along with this? Cause the transfer looks great!

Yes I've seen some favourable comments on this version - I'll have to add some screenshots to my site for comparison, hopefully Zion can do the same.
