(Ed note: my girls have seen all three Despecialized and L8wrtr’s version of I and II)

Near end of opening space battle/Dooku fight/Grievous fight/crash landing:
8yo: What’s happening?

When Ani wakes up after the first nightmare:
5yo: Why is he not wearing clothes?

During opera scene:

5yo: Is that guy (Palpatine) a good guy or bad guy?
Me: Uh…good guy…sort of?

During discussion of Darth Pleigus (sp?):

8yo: Who are they talking about?
Me: The guy who was such a powerful bad guy he could save people who died.
8yo: Oh…ok…

Yoda talking to Anakin about letting go of those who die (in a jedi chamber room or something):

5yo: Why is it dark in there?
Wife: Excellent question.

During discussion in jedi council with some jedi teleconferencing in:
5yo: Why is that guy (Ki-Ai-Mundi (sp?)) blue?

And…
5yo: Yoda is funny. He sounds like Grover.

Deleted scene where a server-bot is serving drinks to Jimmy Smits and the Senators discuss what to do about Palpatine:
5yo: Is that a robot?
8yo: Are those good guys or bad guys?
Wife: It’s hard to tell, isn’t it.

When Yoda is being sent off to visit the Wookiees:

8yo: (in reference to Wookiee) Is that Chewbacra? (mispronunciation we can’t bear to correct)
Wife: No.
8yo: Maybe it’s one of his parents.

When Greivous arrives on Utupau (sp?)
5yo: Are those bad guys?
Wife: Yes, they’re all bad guys. (with a sigh, due to how lame the bad guys are)

When we first see Chewbacra on Kasyshiik (sp?):
8yo: Is that Chewbacra?
Wife: (to me) Is it?
Me: (sigh) Yes. Unfortunately.
8yo: YES!!!

During Wookiee fight:

5yo: Will Chewbacra die?
Wife: Well, he’s in A New Hope AND The Force Awakens, so what do you think?
5yo: No?
Wife: Right.

During deleted scene with more senator discussion of palpatine:
5yo: Who’s that blue guy?
Me: An alien.
5yo: I like him.

You mean you didn’t use your edits?

This thread is awesome. Goes to show that ROTS is bad even by kids standards.

Not enough people read the EU.

No, I’d like them to see the “serious versions” first.

Honestly I’m not sure how they’ll react to my versions.

Obi-Wan lands on Utapau:

5yo: (in reference to the Utapauians) Are those good guys?
Me: Sort of.
8yo: What’s going on?
Me: Obi-Wan is looking for General Grevious.
8yo: (unimpressed) Oh.
5yo: (referencing the “drop ship” the bad guys are in) What’s the circle thing?
8yo: Is it a ship like in Attack of the Clones?
Me: I think so. Probably

Grevious vs. Obi Wan fight:
8yo: Four against one? Oh-no!
5yo: (after Obi cuts off one hand) Now he has three!
5yo: (after another one cut off) Now he has two!
8yo: (when the Clones show up) The clones! The clones are here!
8yo: (as Grevious scuttles away) There’s no stopping that evil bad guy.
5yo: (as lizard knocks over droids and gets obi-wan) Good job lizard. (and gives thumbs up)
8yo: (as clone picks up Obi’s lightsaber) Good job clone.
8yo: (when movie cuts away to Sam Jackson discussing Palpatine with the Conehead Jedi) Hey, I want to see what is happening with Obi Wan! He’s the only one doing interesting stuff.

(break for playing Star Wars and then getting ready for bed, tune into tomorrow for the exciting conclusion, probably)

You might as well end the thread here.

I’ll say this…your kids are ahead of me because when I saw this in theaters when I was 10 I was enthralled.

I can’t believe someone would show the prequels to their children. I mean, they’re too young to understand all of the in-depth story elements, the political struggles, and the complex characters.

Army of Darkness: The Medieval Deadit | The Terminator - Color Regrade | The Wrong Trousers - Audio Preservation
SONIC RACES THROUGH THE GREEN FIELDS.
THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.
DON’T GIVE UP ON THE SUN. DON’T MAKE THE SUN LAUGH AT YOU.

I apologize if I ruined the thread for anyone (which is pretty hard to believe). It was sarcasm. I actually quite like this. Interested in reading the final chapter.

This thread makes me kind of excited to show the prequels to my kids. My 4 y/o daughter has seen the entire OT and my son (6) needs to watch Return. Then I guess we’ll start with TPM and trudge through.
