First post here guys, hope to have many good discussions in the future.
For my first post, I wanted to ask something that has been bothering me for a couple days now. (I consider myself a Star Wars fan, but I’m sure there is the elite few who know so much more than I do).
Anyway, say it’s the galactic civil war, rebel versus imperial going on all over the Galaxy. We started to see more bounty hunters and pirates in the books and original trilogy. My question is this. Say a person wanting to be a pirate stumbled across the find of the century, an abandoned clone war era cruiser. Which would be more likely the most realistic situation (in the sense of the Star Wars realistic point of view):
A venator class (Jedi flagship)
A providence (like the invisible hand)
The venator is awesome and probably one of my favorite ships, but it requires a crew of 7,400. But it can probably be manned by a smaller crew if need be.
The providence, on the other hand, is also a neat ship. Having an epic armament if one of the modified versions, it carries 1.5 million droids and only needs a crew of 800.
Now, the situations I can see is these:
Pirate finds the venator fully equipped, abandoned in the outer colony space. Could it be possible muster a group big enough to pilot and use it effectively for a life of piracy.
Now the providence, also fully stocked, just abandoned with the droids all shut down, maybe he had a friend or buddy who could get into the mainframe of the droids and reprogram them to work for them.
Both abandoned due to either not wanting to be apart of the empire (venator), and simply not being needed anymore, (providence).
What do you guys think? I’m open to any and all ideas.
