Great, now I’ve got that stuck in my head. 😄

The emperor manipulated Vader to throw him down that shaft.

I’m sure he means like take an IMAX camera up in space and point it out the window into deep space.

I think that using actual space footage is actually a pretty cool idea. I’m all for it.

I think you would simply end up with a black frame. Stars are too faint to show up with conventional photography which is why you don’t see them in real spaceflight photos and film. Something lost on all the moon landing hoax conspiracy loonies. Movies and tv have used real astronomical photographs though, which are long exposure images.

I haven’t read this whole thread so I might be repeating stuff.

It bugs me that whenever they show Luke inside his x-wing in ESB and ROTJ, they use the sound effect of the targeting computer from Star Wars as if its just a regular sound that you hear at all times in the interior of the X-Wing. And what happens when the sound effect reaches its high frequency of beeps as it did when the bombers got to the end of the bombing run when the sound effect should end? It just loops. ugh.

Also, I hate that you can hear Greedo’s part of the conversation with Han from Star Wars in the background of Jabba’s palace.

And why is it that whenever I read about someone complaining about the scream added to Luke’s falling for one version of the special edition ESB (a sensible complaint, of course), no one ever seems to notice or mention that it’s the exact scream used for the emperor falling in ROTJ? That was unbelievably ridiculous.

I think its interesting that both SW and ESB use the same collection of R2-D2 sounds, but ROTJ has a completely different style for R2’s sounds. I didn’t notice that for a long time.

I never noticed that about Luke’s x wing sounds, I will have to listen for that next time.

I know what you mean about r2’s sounds in rotj. Noticed that for myself for the first time a couple months ago. It’s pretty annoying actually. I think they took it too far and made it a little over the top. I preferred it when his sounds were simpler.

Anyone remember different camera angles from ROTJ?

Has anyone posted the bad lip readings for Star Wars yet? I’ve had Yoda’s song stuck in my head since Thursday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiCGkzwW_S8

Yoda’s song is the best part of those, with lando’s lines coming in second. I want a full version of that song so much, like they did with “bushes of love” and are doing with the indian C3PO song.

Ironside would make for a good villain.

They need to update that video with his appearance in Turbo Kid.

^They actually put the stupid spinning inquisitor lightsaber on that list? Automatic FAIL.

I only know of 5 lightsabers:

The lightsaber of Anakin Skywalker, presented to Luke Skywalker by Ben Kenobi.
The lightsaber of Ben Kenobi.
The lightsaber of Darth Vader.
The lightsaber built by Luke Skywalker.
The lightsaber of Kylo Ren.

One of the worst things about the prequels is that every Joe out there has a lightsaber. That scene when like 100 Jedi storm a bunch of robots with lightsabers is one of the dumbest shots ever (like dudes, pull out Anakin, Ben, and Padme and drop a big bomb, or just drop in expendable clones, Jedi aren’t infantry, they’re supposed to be rare, elite fighters). In the OT (and in VII, hopefully it continues), lightsabers are rare weapons, wielded by a select few and used, for the most part, only in combat against other lightsaber wielders. It added to the lore and mystery of them.

I like to think that stormtrooper armour is far more effective than the films let on. Thus, in my mind’s eye, this is what happens to almost every stormtrooper who gets shot in the OT:

“Dead or alive, you’re coming with us!”

“Eat red-hot plasma, buckethead!”

*wilhelm scream*

“Good thing my armour absorbed the brunt of that blast. Otherwise that shot would have killed me instead of momentarily knocking me unconscious. Now that I have my wits about me, I can continue my relentless pursuit of the Rebel scum.”

You mean every Jedi Joe? Why wouldn’t they all have lightsabers? They’re Jedi!

What I mean to say is there are just so many g-dd-mn lightsabers because there are so many g-dd-mn Jedi. I know it’s a big galaxy, but force-sensitivity still seems to be too wide-spread in the PT. In the OT, it’s mystical. There are five force users in the entire galaxy: Ben, Yoda, Luke, Vader, and the Emperor. In the PT, you have 100 Jedi killing robots and you’re like A) is being a Jedi really that hard? and B) Are they really held in that high esteem, if they’re being contracted to kill robots? It just dilutes the notion of Jedi.
