Here is my “proof of concept” video before I dolled things up a bit:

Dude, that is sweet. What kind of projector is that?

The hurtin’ kind!

It’s a JVC X35 (or RS46 in the US). You’ll also find the lens memory function on some Sony and Panasonic projectors.

Thanks dude. After doing some research, I think IM gonna settle for the Panansonic Ae-8000. Main reason, price! Right now, the one weak point of my AV system is by far the projector. Everything else is more than taken care of. Well, I guess if I get that projector, Ill have to drop another untold amount of $$ on a bigger screen as well!

I know it doesn’t even remotely compare to most of you guys here, but I am picking up a 43’ Sharp Roku TV at Best Buy today which will work perfectly since I watch SW on Plex instead of forking over for physical Blurays. I’m also working on a little 3.1 system for the home.

I’ve been thinking about getting a 50" to 65" rear-projection HD CRT. I’ve found that films generally look better on CRTs, and the only obstacle with these is trailering them to my house and getting it through the door. I also thought that these would be a good alternative to a CRT projector, which would be the best option, but those are apparently difficult to use if you don’t have a bachelor’s degree in projection. 😃

Almost there… almost there!

Right now, it’s:
Samsung 40" F6300 Edge-lit 120Hz LCD (& i1Display-Pro/3 to calibrate)
Denon X2200W AVR
Definitive Center 1000 & 2x Monitor 800 (For 3.1)
Dayton SUB-800 Subwoofer
Region-Free Modded LG BP340 Blu-Ray Player & 1TB External HDD
Fios Box
====
NES - RGB Modded
SNES - RGB & Digital Coax Modded
N64 - HDMI Modded
PS1 w/ Stock RGB
PS4
Dreamcast
GameCube w/ D-Terminal
====
XRGB-Mini Upscaler (For RGB, duh)
Lumagen Vision HDQ Upscaler (For GC & DC)
Bandridge 5-SCART Switch

I’ve only got to wait about a month and a half for the dream, that new E6 LG OLED (Will prob get the 55"). No more gray uniformity issues, no vignetting problems, low input lag (34ms) (FINALLY), FULL calibration settings (10pt gray, 3D CMS, gamma), and of course +3D, +4K, +HDR, and that gorgeous, gorgeous viewing angle, black level and contrast. It’ll also be interesting watching DeEd through 10-bit processing (Since one should normally process a level above the bits mastered) and with a panel that can integer scale it. (720x3=2160).

Oh, and hopefully around the same time I can get the NES HDMI modded to boot.

Lookin pretty good over here soon.
