I think he only wanted GOUT used for sync, shot timing issues, subtitle timing.

Any recomps that aren’t already dealt with are going to be as is until 3.0 I believe.

Thanks for the hard work; I just checked out Jedi and it was very impressive to say the least. As far as the workprint is concerned, it looked pretty dang good to me, kudos.

It is a shame that the movie version of Lapti Nek never made it on to any of the soundtracks, at least as a bonus. GL strikes again. It would have made the commentary problem easier to deal with, but I think we’ll live. 😃

It’s really sad when the “creative minds” behind something we hold dear are also guilty of its destruction.

Yes it did. It was on the original vinyl and CD soundtracks, and it was included in the 1993 pre-special edition soundtrack anthology CD box set I have that included all three scores in their entirety. Now it (as well as “Yub Nub” and the rest of the original soundtrack as well as all the others) has recently been reissued as part of an “Ultimate Soundtrack Collection” available on iTunes and I think other digital music stores and on vinyl. The fact that they used the original versions of the soundtracks for all the movies (and no “Jedi Rocks” or any other SE crap in sight) for these latest releases is a good sign. It may well mean an official release of the original movies isn’t far behind…

If you want to download it you can buy it here BTW:

^He’s saying that the version heard in the film isn’t on the soundtracks, and I can’t confirm that he’s correct, but it’s definitely not anything that hasn’t happened before. Same with Gonna Fly in Rocky, the (superior, IMO) version from the film isn’t included in the soundtrack, being replaced with a different recording.

EDIT: You beat me to the punch SplikaBilka. I guess I typed too much.😃

Army of Darkness: The Medieval Deadit | The Terminator - Color Regrade | The Wrong Trousers - Audio Preservation
SONIC RACES THROUGH THE GREEN FIELDS.
THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.
DON’T GIVE UP ON THE SUN. DON’T MAKE THE SUN LAUGH AT YOU.

Ah OK. I guess I didn’t realize that since I haven’t listened to the soundtrack in a while. Even still, I don’t think having a tiny bit of “Jedi Rocks” playing in the background of the commentary is going to break it.

Yeah I don’t think Lapti Nek or Yub Nub as heard in the movie were ever on any soundtrack, or the original soundtrack. I agree though that it’s a great sign that we’re getting the original soundtracks back, fingers crossed the original movies aren’t far behind!

Actually I just looked at my rips of my anthology box set CDs in iTunes, and the film version of Yub Nub is included as a bonus track. Not Lapti Nek though.

And another quick fact. The movie version was not used for the MTV music video, either.

I was able to find the 720p 3GB torrent for this, along with STAR WARS and The Empire Strikes Back, but don’t know which version number it is. Does MySpleen have a BD25 1080p version? I’m about to look very soon.

Wait for 2.5, which will be out soon.

There are no official releases of Harmy’s Despecialized that are 3GB.

It’s fine though. I found the BD25 of Harmy’s STAR WARS but there’s a couple errors regarding the menu for the commentaries. It’s Laserdisc, not Laserdisk. It’s Blu-ray disc, not Bluray.
Otherwise it’s fine.
I’ll grab the large size MKV for Return of the Jedi from The Spleen and make my own Blu-ray with it. Unless if Harmy has made a BD25 of it?

There are also no official BD25’s from Harmy yet. Only the large MKVs, the AVCHD DVD-9s, and some of the NTSC DVD5s are sanctioned by Harmy, everything you’ve gotten so far has been modified by third parties.

Yeah, I decided to skip v2.0 for ROTJ, since the v2.0WP got a pretty wide release and v2.0 was supposed to be just the same as the WP only with a couple of fixes, but you’ll see this new version is much more than just that, so the next version, (which should be out late this week or early next week, I know I keep pushing it but it’ll be worth it, you’ll see, 😉 ) will be v2.5, followed soon by v2.5 of ESB, which will get all three movies on the same version and then I can focus on getting v3.0s done (v3.0 will be 1080p, so I’ll need to start pretty much from scratch on those).

Sounds great! (those of us looking over the workprint got the good news about 2.5 a little while ago - it really does look spectacular). Any idea which of the 3 you’ll focus on first for 3.0?

Most likely Star Wars, although I’m still waiting on some stuff for that one, so it will depend on whether I get it by the time I’m done with ESB v2.5.

My idea is to work on all 3 v3.0s though and release them all at once but we’ll see how that works out.

That’s a pretty promising distribution aspiration, I hope it works out that way without any hiccups (mostly trouble getting sources in a timely manner, I’d assume).

The most pressing question I have though, and I’d really appreciate a definitive statement is, Are the TIE fighters going to vanish? If so, have they already been corrected, or is that yet to be fixed before the release?
