The Television cut is quite funny. :)

They even "censored" the "I'm bad Ash and you'r good Ash."  did they believed someone would take Ash for A**? :D

Bringing back this thread from the evil dead to inquire about the TV cut of Army of Darkness.

I've been planning to make my own ultimate cut of AoD using the best elements at my online disposal, including the UK Blu-ray Director's Cut, the French Blu-ray US Theatrical Cut, Ridgeshark's amazing Primitive Screwhead cut, and, if I can get my hands on it easily enough, the TV Cut.

I know that the extra scenes found in the TV Cut have been used in the Primitive Screwhead Edition, but that was before the TV Cut was finally, to my knowledge, released on dvd by two companies.

There's

and

Would any of you have the TV Cut dvd from these releases?

I believe it was a forum user that provided the TV cut to the German company, which got released to French and Australian copies.  So I'm not certain if the quality would be better than the Primitive Screwhead Edition.

With regards the German disc at least, Koch Media got a DigiBeta tape from Universal, so it's not a fan transfer.  However, it's an NTSC>PAL transfer with no speed-up etc applied, so might be a tough one to work with from what I recall.

It seems that speed correction needs to be done first to the German disc before any ultimate cut work.

On a side note, would there be any interest in a reconstructed Director's Cut using the UK BD for most of the footage and only pulling the extra footage from the German BD?  All of the BD releases of the Director's Cut and International Cut are from a 720p source that was upscaled to 1080p.

From what I understand, that is the case for the Director's Cut, but not the International Cut.  If I remember correctly, Koch worked from an HDCAM SR on the latter.

If they used a different source for the International Cut, it doesn't really show.  The international version appears to have slightly different cropping/framing but it still has all the issues with poor color, blown whites, and crushed blacks that the Director's Cut displays.  The UK theatrical edition shows a lot more detail in the light and dark areas and, according to reviews, the color is more accurate.  I don't have a film print to compare with, but the overly-boosted contrast is obviously not correct.

First: There is no official German Evil Dead (Tanz der Teufel) BluRay release. The Bootleg only contains the Movie in Widescreen and 4:3 pillarboxed. As Bonus just an audio commentary and a 18 minute featurette.

Second: The US Army of Darkness release seem to have some quite different master for the international Version and the US theatrical cut: http://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?a=1&x=588&y=225&d1=6714&d2=6708&s1=63326&s2=63237&l=0&i=1&go=1 The german is like the french one.

Also, if I read the backsides from the two releases, it seems as if the US has a new feature length documentary “Medieval Times: The MAking of Army of Darkness”

Does anyone here have the “Captain Supermarket” LD and/or the original Director’s Cut VHS?

I’d like to get the audio from those, and the JP LD is hard enough to come by, and I’d rather not spend ten bucks on a tape someone else might’ve already captured.

(MrBrown, did you get your JP LD captured ever?)

SONIC RACES THROUGH THE GREEN FIELDS.
THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.
DON’T GIVE UP ON THE SUN. DON’T MAKE THE SUN LAUGH AT YOU.

Is anyone working on this with the shout blu ray? Because the 4k transfer plus the directors cut scenes, theatrical ending and tv scenes plus the good bad I’m the guy with the gun line would be the ultimate cut in my eyes.
