For those of you not around in the 70’s Grizzly Adams was a popular movie, and later a tv show. What kid didn’t want to live in the wilderness with a grizzly bear for your best pal back then?

My uncle’s then girlfriend took me to see the film but we came in half way through and we hung behind and watched the beginning later.
It was sort of a precursor to Grizzly Adams (the film not the book) in the sense it was about wilderness living and an outcast character living in harmony with a natural predator. It’s also a sign of those times that a film set in Siberia was ‘moved’ to Alaska (where the story makes zero sense) because of the Cold War.
The lead and the support characters switched roles.
Thom Pace’s theme to Grizzly Adams haunted me much like Joan Baez’s songs for Silent Running
Once again informing my hippy attitudes to non-human terrestrial species.

Well with three complete nuclear reactor meltdowns (with breached containment vessels and missing fuel) and the destruction and release of an entire “MOX” spent fuel pool into our atmosphere, you should be a bit paranoid. Fukushima is real, the cancers will increase!

It reminds me of how shocked i was when Elizabeth Sladen died.

I lost one of my Grandfather’s to cancer when I was only five and I had only met him twice. Man I hate cancer.

I don’t know who that is but for a second there I thought Nicholas Cage had died, that guy looks a lot like a long Cage.
