Christmas Jones is the worst Bond girl in the entire series without doubt. That being said I love the Elektra/Renard combination for the villians

Friend of mine told me today he thinks FRWL was one of the worst movies. I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t put it at or near the top, it does not compute.

That is weird. It’s the most sophisticated and mature by far of the entire series in my opinion.

At least she didn’t squeal like a pig stuck in the mud. Stacey Sutton, anyone?
I don’t mind her character in TWINE, as it could always be worse. TWINE is so full of missed opportunities and failures that it is an always fascinating watch. Brosnan is at his best, the story setup is great, the villains are perfectly cast, the locations and style are prefect, Arnold’s score is far better integrated than TND, the title song is PERFECT, Apted proves great for the character scenes…and yet it doesn’t work half the time because the second unit action footage doesn’t integrate well and this film began the curse of Purvis & Wade who can’t develop a plot thread to save their lives.

SPECTRE proves they don’t know what they are doing any longer, nor can they jump ship and do a big TSWLM/YOLT or even Thunderball type of action Bond film anymore. In fact the film is so bad, so dull, so drawn and out and inconsistent that I’m shocked it was even released. How anyone liked it is beyond me. Like Jurassic World and TFA it attempts to remake and reinvent the old stories for new 2015 audiences, but unlike those it has no drive, passion, humanity, pacing and really anything to speak of at all. If you had said it was a feature length fashion and lifestyle advert on Ambien, you’d be 100% correct.

Current rank is something like this, but all 20 are part of my psyche forever.

I don’t get why they can’t just make a standalone movie. That’s why I loved Skyfall so much. QOS made the mistake of being a direct sequel to Casino Royale. CR left it open for resolution, so that made it difficult, but even DAF was somewhat of a direct sequel to OHMSS but functions as a standalone movie well enough.

I really enjoyed Skyfall. Is it the greatest Bond movie like some claim? No. Nor is it the worst as others claim. It has plot holes you can drive a train through but I love the characters and the action. Plus, it’s a great film to just look at. Really, it looks fantastic.

Plot holes are a staple of the franchise. I always hate using the “nostalgia clouds peoples’ memory” argument, but I don’t think it is fair to pick apart Skyfall over mostly inconsequential plot discrepancies while accepting to problems with all the other films in the franchise. Skyfall has plenty of problems, but I find it puzzling to see fans of the franchise picking apart the most pointless problems in Skyfall while having no problem with the pre-Craig films.

Finally watching Spectre. So far, it’s decent. I was going to complain about the excessive teal and orange, but it’s mostly just orange. SO MUCH ORANGE!!

I need to see Spectre again. I have forgotten a lot about it since I saw it in theatres.

I seem to recall the bonus features mentioning that a lot of people were tricked into thinking it was real after seeing Thunderball when it was first released.

George Lucas also stole it in TPM.

You must be the only person I have ever encountered to rank Die Another Day ahead of Casino Royale.

Anyway, I’ve been on a bit of a Bond marathon lately, after never watching one until a few weeks ago, and I must say, they’ve had an excellent track record so far. Out of the nine I have seen, only two I disliked.

I actually enjoy the Craig films, but they will never have the same magic of the original 20 film timeline.

I recently attempted to watch the 1967 Casino Royale movie, and it was complete trash. It had the barest of plot, characters, anything that makes a good movie, and the worst part was it wasn’t even funny. If it was at least funny I might have written it off as a good spoof (which I believe is what they were going for), but as it stands it is just dull.

The 60s Casino Royale is just kind of embarrassing.

It was certainly a troubled production. It’s a wonder it’s not more of a mess with everything that went wrong behind the camera.

Hey, I like that film! 😛
