Hey, quick question. There’s a pretty abrupt cut right at 27:44. Does anyone know if that’s intended (part of the theatrical release), a bug with the release, or unrecognized (a problem on my end)?

When one of the sandpeople is handing a gun to another and it cuts to another shot? That was there before, in the laderdisc etc. Looks the same here, doesn’t seem unusual to me.

Sounds like an audio cut at 27:44, probably for syncing purposes. It’s not there on my PAL GOUT DVD (a bit before 31:00).

Edit: I take that back, I think it’s there but just less noticeable.

Is it just an audio cut you guys are talking about? If so, it’s not something that Harmy encoded, but it would probably still be helpful if you mentioned which of the many audio tracks it is. Also, you can cycle through the many options and see if it’s present in others, such as the 1985 laserdisc, etc.

Can anyone give me step-by-step instructions on how to download this?

Yes. Step one: read the first post or the ABOUT section on the FB page. Step two: follow the step by step instructions there.

Hi guys. So I downloaded the trilogy, but the sound isn’t working on anh (v2.5) or esb (v2.0) (rotj works flawlessly). I deleted the files for the first two, and re-downloaded them again separately, but again, no sound. I have never torrented before, so I am very confused by the whole process, and do not know how to fix the issue… Help?

I didn’t hate the prequels, they are my childhood. I like Hayden Christensen, he embodies my favorite character. Sure, I’m different, but anger, fear, hatred, etc… Those all lead to the dark side.

I know this is probably a stupid question, but where can I download his “official” versions of the films? I downloaded all three from a torrent, but ANH (v2.5) and ESB (v2.0) do not have working sound, though ROTJ (v1.0) works flawlessly. I deleted and re-downloaded the two that had no sound, but there was no change. I would love to get working versions of these, so please let me know if you have any solutions! 😃

You probably deleted files that were perfectly fine and you were just unable to play the DTS-HD-MA audio. I don’t know how to fix that, as I’ve never had a problem with it. But, for now, try one of the other audio tracks. Perhaps the laserdisc audio on tracks 4 or 5 of 2.5?

How do I change which track to use?

Where would I install that from?

It worked! Thank you so much!

Instal some kind of codec pack - KLM or CCCP.

Was Return 2.0 released yet? If not, when do you expect it to be released?

I have the workprint but I would love the final version.

The Harmy’s STAR WARS Despecialized Edition instructions are beyond the non-technical person’s abilities. Too bad.

The instructions aren’t really that complicated. Just get a torrent client. Go to a torrent site and search “Harmy”. Click on the movies you want and download them through the torrent client. What’s so difficult about that? If you genuinely find that confusing, then do some research/googling on what you’re confused about. This isn’t some advanced PhD level course. It’s just simple directions. If you still find the directions confusing and can’t be bothered to quickly google the things you don’t understand, then, like you said, too bad.

Too bad they ruined it by zooming in until it fit the 16:9 aspect ratio

I know that this is not the intent of this project, but I would like to respectfully suggest a version of Star Wars that includes the Episode IV: A New Hope subtitle along with the more consistent colors from the earlier versions of Despecialized versions reminiscent of the home video colors. Again, I completely understand the fact that this is not the goal of this specific project, but I think it is also important to preserve the version of Star Wars that a great number of fans (and many of us in this forum) grew up with along with the all-important theatrical versions. I would gladly do this myself if I had the ability to do it but I would no-doubt screw it up and fail miserably because of my technical ineptitude. I know that Harmy released the Star Wars 90s SE awhile back and has mentioned a willingness to include the Episode IV subtitle. Again, I’d be interested in hearing if you are willing to do this the next time you revisit the Star Wars Despecialized Edition.

I would absolutely adore a version with the subtitle and colors based on a home video release (even after countless viewings, all the blue and green on the Death Star still kind of throws me off).

EDIT: Just saw Harmy’s response about actually potentially doing this. If this is a “I’ll do it if X people are interested in it” thing, consider me officially interested.

Are any of the Harmy restorations Blu-Ray? If not where can I find good ones?

Hi Harmy,
Now that Mike Verta has screened his completed version of Star Wars, is there any chance he can send you updated color references for version 3.0? If my memory is correct, many of your earlier references were based on his work in progress scans.

Either way, I’m really looking forward to seeing it. 😃

What can you get a Wookiee for (Life Day) Christmas when he already owns a comb?

I don’t think he’s screened it yet. But I know for sure that he’s busy working some really awesome job right now, so I doubt he’ll have time to get me references any time soon but maybe in time for v3.0 I could get them, yeah. I’ll probably work on all three 3.0 movies at the same time, because ESB and ROTJ should almost be there in their v2.5 versions but SW will have to be done pretty much from scratch, so I can work on that and leave the final color correction for last.
