Cool. I liked the shot with Han, Leia, 3PO, and Ackbar. Han shooting his blaster. Kylo saying ‘the dark side’ rather than ‘the path of the Sith’ or something obnoxious like that. All of it.

Edit: Wait, is that Billie Lourd in the Ackbar et al. shot, too?

Could this be the first bit of John Williams’ score that we’ve heard, or am I just crazy?

Also, is that stormtrooper using one of those electrostaffs from ROTS?

Doesn’t really look like them, but seems like the same idea. Strange that they would bother having them and training to use them, though. So I wonder if there’s a more prevalent weapon that they’re designed to counter, rather than the few bandits around who managed to keep lightsabers.

Just so people know, I’ve been sticking TV spots in the first post as people post links to them, so if anyone wants quick access to any of the trailers or TV spots from here, that’s where you’ll find them.

Speaking of which, I checked the Smithsonian’s ticketing site and noticed they’ve quietly added a 70mm showtime earlier in the day at 2:30 for Friday-Sunday. Previously they were all sold out until 10:45 on Saturday night.

Maybe I’ll be seeing this earlier than expected.

Aaaaand just this moment saw the special preview during the “Shondathon” on ABC.

LOTS of new shots.

Where are you seeing this? The website I can find only lets you see the schedule out to 21 days, can’t even see the listings for Star Wars on it yet.

If it’s set for somewhere in the DC area then the Lockheed Martin theater should be listed.

I’m getting a Splinter of the Minds Eye vibe from that image in Kylo vs The Good Guys in the forest.

Definately has a similar feel. Good catch.

I’ve been really worried about the music since I can’t think of a Williams score I really love since Jurassic Park, but if this is it I’m completely on board. There’s a really nice Tchaikovsky thing going on with that first theme (I’m guessing Rey’s).

EW article on Hux and Starkiller Base with a lot if interesting little bits http://www.ew.com/article/2015/11/13/star-wars-starkiller-base-general-hux?hootPostID=2e25dce99e219a1c5784bb8680d772d0

Cell-phone-camera-pointed-at-TV video of a teaser that ran on Disney XD in the UK with a lot of new footage and our first lines from Hux and Poe, let’s hope a proper video shows up soon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-J1a4J7xNc

Rey running in the Falcon’s corridor and yelling at BB-8 gave me a big goofy smile.

I realize that this picture is kind of old news by now, but while reading one of the recent Jar Jar fan theories just for fun and time wasting, I did however come across this picture of what seems like an unfinished Gungan head in the background in the D23 B-roll footage from ILM.

Any thoughts on this?

(PS, I personally don’t see the Gungan that’s supposed to be on the right side of the photo, but like I said I didn’t make this picture, I just borrowed it from reddit.)

I can kinda see a Gungan, but it could just as easily be something else.

Regarding the Disney XD UK thing, I’m assuming that TFA footage will air here in the States tonight at (I think) 8:30 on either Disney Channel proper or Disney XD.

Variety confirms that the music in the second TV spot is indeed from the new Williams score! http://variety.com/2015/film/news/star-wars-the-force-awakens-footage-han-solo-gun-rey-lightsaber-1201639818/

I’m also seeing that one of the Entertainment Weekly articles confirmed a final running time of 135 minutes, but I’m not sure which one. Ten minutes longer than I’d like, but ten minutes shorter than the estimates I was seeing a month or so ago, so I guess I’m happy.

EDIT: Billie Lourd is in the war room shot, by the way:

I guess that confirms she’s not playing Leia in flashback as was rumored?

Keep in mind the closing credits will no doubt be lengthy.

And after waiting 32 years for a sequel, TFA could be four hours long, and I wouldn’t mind. 😃

Attack of the Clones remains the longest Star Wars film so far, at 142 minutes.

I still remember when TF.N did a poll after Fellowship of the Ring was released asking how long AOTC should be, with one of the boxes saying “a three hour epic.” It’s probably just coincidence, but I can’t help but wonder if FOTR’s success made George a little more lax about the running time.

I’ll admit to not following theory threads too closely, but is it possible she’s Leia’s daughter from the start of the film, presented as a regular character? Not every Star Wars character has to be some long lost, hidden, unknown, secret, O.M.G. reveal.

The only theory I’ve seen about her anywhere is that she’s young Leia in a flashback, which she actually denied in an interview a couple months ago, so it’s not really a huge revelation that that isn’t true. I think she certainly could be Leia’s daughter. She’s the same age as Daisy Ridley though, so if she is then I think it’s unlikely that Rey is also. I also have this weird feeling that even if Billie Lourd is Leia’s kid she isn’t Han’s. If Han is in fact out of the picture, maybe Leia is/was involved with that Major Ematt guy who was in all the Journey to the Force Awakens books.

Interesting how we’re seeing that clip of Poe just days after seeing the book cover illustration of him meeting with Von Sydow’s character. The clip would appear to be from that scene, based on the lighting.

As for Billie Lourd, maybe she’s just a random Ensign in the Resistance?

^I think that’s the most likely option for Billie.

I would be surprised if they even post pictures of the cast in costume. Like they did of Ford on Crystal Skull.
