^That’s another reason I’d like them to just be together the whole time. They’ll steal the show if they have a complicated story of their own.

I’m really digging that crude red light saber. It really has character.

What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.

That Japanese trailer does a good job of revealing just a little bit more without making us feel like we’ve seen the whole movie.

Actually, even the new shots don’t really tell us much of anything about the story that we didn’t already know from the previous trailers.

We’ve got more than a month to go. Mystery Box or not, there’s still a lot they could let spill in the marketing deluge.

I might have to seriously consider going into spoiler lockdown mode.

I really enjoyed this trailer. It felt a bit simpler and less JJ-ified. Of course, it didn’t quite hit the way ‘our’ trailer did in some ways. Harrison’s lines were chopped up in a way that didn’t quite have impact or make sense.

Not much as far as spoilers go. But we do have Rey’s line about waiting for her family. We can still only speculate. But she may very well know of her lineage.

If this shot is representative of TFA’s overall aesthetic then I’m getting even more hyped than I already am.

Also the more I see Kylo’s lightsaber in action, the more I’m warming up to it. I know it’s technically a gimmick, but I like that it’s something completely different from what we’ve seen before. It just seems so vicious, and I like that, it really does seem like something a bad guy would use, and it’s a bit less elegant than Vader’s saber (so him being a copycat is kind of reflected in his weapon.)

Oh, BTW, did anyone else hear the Wilhelm scream at 1:21?

We all know Rey is Luke and Leias accident daughter from between ESB and RotJ. She just happens to be a very young looking 30 😛

Preferred Saga:
1/2: Hal9000
3: L8wrtr
4/5: Adywan
6-9: Hal9000

The inbreeding should really give Rey some fantastic midichlorian titers. She will be the most force sensitive person yet, albeit with webbed toes.

The Japanese trailer has some really great shots we haven’t seen yet (and a bunch of new lines as well):

Is it just me or does this trailer have less of Green shift in it then we’ve seen in previous trailers. Take a look at about 1:25 the snow looks a little more blue instead of Green.

Edit: https://youtu.be/sGbxmsDFVnE here is the Official (Football) trailer. Take a look at 1:49 so you can compare.

One day we will have properly restored versions of the Original Unaltered Trilogy (OUT); or 1977, 1980, 1983 Theatrical released versions (Like 4K77,4K80 and 4K83); including Prequels. So that future generations can enjoy these historic films that changed cinema forever.

It looks like Stephen Colbert was right about Kylo’s saber.

EDIT: or not, it looked like there was a cutaway in top of the cross guard emitters that showed the side blades connecting to the main one in the video but in the stills I think that’s just the reflection of the main blade.

The JP trailer looks to be 2.35:1 ratio compared to the US one which seems to be 2.40:1

Sweet, I thought the JP looked less green and more blue, especially in the snow battle scenes.
Thanks.
P.s. Can you please make a screenshotcomparison of the part I posted earlier. Thank you.

If my cats don’t have webbed toes (pads?), then she wouldn’t, either. =P

I guess we can ignore everything that came from anyone who said that Rey gives Finn his name. I remember more than a couple of people claiming to have insider info included that in their story.

It will be fun to look back at all the bogus and just plain wrong spoilers two months from now. 😉

Maybe not though. The editing on trailers can be deceptive, and I suspect this will be the case with this film a LOT. For instance:

Rey: I don’t know your name.
Finn: I don’t have a name. I’ve always answered to FN-2187
Rey: That’s not much of a name. Why don’t I call you Finn?
Finn: (Slightly miffed) Finn…
Rey: Nice to meet you Finn. I’m Rey.

Bit convoluted, and I have no beliefs about it one way or the other, but just proves things might not be what they seem. 😉

That’s a good point, I can absolutely see it playing out like that now that you bring it up.

I loved the first shot, as well as the one at 0:21. The latter looks like it could have been taken straight from the OT. The shot of the TIEs coming towards the screen with the sun behind looked great as well.

I’m also starting to dig Kylo’s saber, though I never really disliked it in the first place.

Good point. The dialogue in the Japanese trailer seems especially hacked up. Ford’s line doesn’t make a ton of sense this way (‘the force, it’s true, all of it’), and the Maz/Rey exchange feels awkwardly cut and timed as well.

I think it’s because the trailer was edited with the Japanese subtitles in mind, rather than the dialog from the audio. To a Japanese audience, Han’s line is “The Force is real. It’s all real.” instead of “The Force. It’s true. All of it.”

Ah, thanks for clearing that up!

Anyway, the point is that there are three sets of dialogue that we have seen in two different arrangements, so best not to assume anything in a trailer represents an actual cut. 😃
