Wait a second, are the official teasers considered spoilers? If so, I'm sorry I put that link to the 2nd teaser. Should I remove it?

It sounds like labeling a link appropriately should be fine. Embedding images that give people no choice is not.

Dameron's goofy "wooow!". As is, out of context, it looks ridiculous to me. Considering we're talking about Abrams, this isn't anything new, and to me it just looks... pointless and stupid :D

 He's enthusiastic about flying....So what?

Can you tell me what happens before and after that whhoooo scene, as you've obviously seen the film?

I said "probably". I say so becouse I saw plenty of times someone doing a cry like that in blockbusters, including "Mission Impossible 3" and even "Batman Forever"! If it'll be story-wise pointless or out-of-character, I won't like it. Just my opinion.

Of course, I'd be glad to be wrong, and that he has a very good reason to do it, not just acting like a kid!

So what if he's reckless? I'd say a guy like that who is reckless and can crack jokes in semi serious moments is a good thing if they don't take it too too far. It would give the movie some life.

They both look like they're just being playful in serious situations because they're supposed to be fun films.

It's also not the same shot of Solo as wahoo, of course. In that one, he looks more like a radio DJ.

 As I said...

I mean out of thousands if not millions of people in this war it's not far fetched that there's someone else in the galaxy who enjoys flying and dogfights.

But it fits the character, right from his cowboy suit. You know, he's a cowboy. My statement applies to both of the shots.

:D Maybe he is a DJ!

Is the line of thinking here that Poe can't be a cowboy because he's a soldier? I'm honestly having trouble understanding what disqualifies him from having an attitude like Han's.

He could be like Han, though he's the only TFA's main character we know nothing about.

To me it's still goofy done in that way, but if he has no actual cowboy-like attitude, then it's also out-of-character, so I hope TFA's going to stop this "whoo" blockbuster trend.

Holy moly! Was this already known about and I just missed it, or is this new news?

Where to see The Force Awakens via 70mm IMAX prints!

It's sad to see how few IMAX theaters there are left that actually show 70mm prints anymore. But at the same time...AWESOME! They're actually making and screening 70mm IMAX prints of the new Star Wars movie!!! I was not expecting this at all! I may have to make a special Christmas trip to one of these theaters just for the experience...

You've apparently never read "The Raven".

Well, damn. I guess they replaced the one that used be at Universal Studios Citywalk. That was the only one remotely closest to me.

Where were you in '77?

I'm glad you posted that list, because I wrongly assumed the standalone IMAX theater near us would be playing the dual-70mm version. If it isn't, I may as well just see it in bullcrap AMC IMAX.

That being said, I'm seeing it in conventional 2D the first time.

My stance on revising fan edits.

It flew a little under the radar. I check slashfilm constantly so I saw that story not long after it went up.

Unfortunately, they didn't include Air&Space DC in the list (maybe it was a late addition?) and I didn't see it until I checked IMAX's website, by which point it was too late to get tickets to the 7pm Thursday screening. 10:45 pm on Friday is actually the earliest showtime that doesn't give me an "unavailable/check back later" message. I am nevertheless overjoyed that I'll be able to see it in 15/70 2D without traveling more than a few miles, and with easy access to public transportation. Maybe it's a good thing the regular-sized showings nearest me were already sold out. Now I have a reason to save my cash for the real deal, even if it means going into internet blackout for a day or two.

The best part of this news is that Disney is simplifying things by playing the 15/70 version in 2D and the laser and xenon versions in 3D. It would be nice if they included some 2D showings on their laser and xenon screens as well, for the people who can't make it to the only dozen or so places playing it in 15/70, but oh well. We've still got two months to go, so maybe they'll add more locations as more and more tickets sell out.

The decision to only show the 70mm version in 2D makes sense from a business standpoint as well. It costs at least thirty grand just to print one of those things and I would assume twice as much if the movie is in 3D.

I'm just glad it will be that much easier to see the movie the way it was intended.

Are you sure? It seems California has two entries for some reason:

Entry 1:
California

Hackworth IMAX Dome, The Tech Museum – San Jose

Entry 2:
California

TCL Chinese Theatres IMAX – Hollywood

AMC Metreon 16 & IMAX – San Francisco

AMC Universal CityWalk Stadium 19 & IMAX – Universal City

And never mind... I should've paid more attention tithe lists. Both the DC and Citywalk theaters are the laser projectors. NOT 70mm. :-/
