I literally just came here now to let everyone know about it. I've only listened to the first ten minutes or so but I'm enjoying it quite a bit.
I disagree with you about JJ but to each his own.
It's the first shot with the wipe from previous scene - it's an alternate angle which was never used in the original.

The 2004 edition was so badly done. You can actually see the tail of the '97 Jabba during the transition in the scene where he talks with Han.

See?
Yeah because they didn't want to re-do the wipe again. The 1997 disolve is the one in the o-neg now. You'll notice though that the rest of the shot they began with the clean Jabba-free frames and then stitched it back together with the film (so in fact what you're seeing in that frame is a dissolve into the 2004 version put on top of the 1997 dissolve). As people have noted it's barely noticeable especially when you compare it to the transparent ship example I gave which is in the O-OT.

On a semi-related note, I did an interview for the Undressing Undergound podcast, in which I talk about Legacy a touch, along with a salad-bar of various other topics. This is the same show that had TV's Frink on, once, which should give you a pretty good idea of what to expect.

Well what's the point of only enjoying people who agree with everything you already think? That's gotta be pretty high on the narcissism meter, if you think about it. Spirited, alcohol-fueled debates with smart people is, to me, a billion times better than Disneyland.

Ha-ha, agreed.
Welcome to the "weirdos interviewed by Rob" club.
Yeah :)
"I don't think I've talked to any one of the... crew members from the first film who haven't been to originaltrilogy at some point." :)
Yeah, that was cool to hear. I wonder if any have ever joined up and posted...

Sounds cool! The link doesn't work for me. Does it need anything special to watch it?
Yes, suddenly that link no longer works, but it's here.

It still doesn't seem to work for me.
Yeah, can't seem to access it even at the site. All the links are down for some reason.
See the link that says "clicking here"? Right click on it and choose "save as" and save it. Worked for me just now.
Ceci n’est pas une signature.
You can actually just right-clic the link in Mike's post too and select "save as" and all is OK.

Still doesn't work for me. Anyone else get it working with Chrome?
Nope, definitely broken.
Guys I just rick-clicked the link and downloaded it again (this time in Chrome), it definitely works:
It doesn't work if you open it in a new window, but if you right-click and select "save target as" it downloads it fine, and you can open it in VLC or MPC.

Just so we're clear here. 'Save target as' is not working either. Doing so in chrome gives me a 'Failed - Server problem' message.
Well that's weird.

This is the escaping pod(cast) I'm looking for. Thanks!

I did the "save target" thing, but when I open it in either winamp or VLC, there's no playback. Ayone else have this issue?

I listened to what you had to say about JJ and I think there are quite a few people that secretly feel the same way.
I get the cynical take on post-Disney Star Wars, and you're right that capitalism is the driving force and films aren't made the same way they were. As long as TFA is on the same level as or better than ROTJ, I'll be happy.
Preserving the original Star Wars (Trilogy) is on a whole different level of importance, but I'm still looking forward to having a bunch of new Star Wars content to parse and enjoy. If it's not all that great, it won't hurt anything to have it out there. But I'll bet it'll be a net positive, as far as enjoying myself. I'm not a serious film guy or anything, so I'm just looking for an interesting story to follow.

This one now works for me.
