I just read the article...Lucas thought Jar Jar would appeal to ages 9-15! LOL!

This guy is truly out of touch...12-15 is the age when your done with stupid kiddy shit...

The True Prequels are "Darth Plagueis & Labyrinth of Evil" by James Luceno and the "Revenge of the Sith" Novelization by Mathew Stover!

"I am immune to the light."

Ugh.

And Luke is apparently the "last Jedi" 30+ years after RotJ.

Exactly what have our heroes been doing since defeating the Emperor and Vader anyway?

Luke must have been sitting out sulking somewhere by his lonesome all this time. The Rebels still can't manage to stamp out the Empire.

There better be some good explanations for all this, but I suspect I won't see them.

I imagine most of the backstory of what happened within the past 30 years will be in the opening crawl.  We may hear bits and pieces throughout the film.

Isn't "Jedi" a plural as well as a singular?

(Edit: I googled it and most people seem to agree that it's "Jedi", not "Jedis" when talking about more than one Jedi knight.)

Spoilers are now leaking from children's costumes on the backstory.

http://www.buycostumes.com/p/809233/star-wars-episode-7-mens-kylo-ren-deluxe-costume

When Kylo Ren joined his fellow knights, and the quest of the First Order, it was all a part of the mission to claim the galactic power once held by Palpatine and the Empire. Over the last thirty years, that government has crumbled into near nothingness, yet few remnants - powerful remnants - still remain. This is the tale that unfolds in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, and it’s one of the stories that you may embody with Star Wars costumes on Halloween.

So the Empire has crumbled to "near nothingness" and Kylo and the Knights of Ren are seeking Palpatine's power.

Seems pretty straightforward. Just don't quite see how "powerful remnants" remain of the Empire if its crumbled to near nothingness.

That's exactly what I've been wondering about the First Order. Is it nearly nothing, or is it powerful? Oh. Ok.

The First Order seems to be very powerful in the teasers.  I thought Kylo was obsessed with the legacy of Darth Vader, though?

Twiddling their thumbs and choking their Wookiees, presumably.

Not sure if this track listing is for real. ;)

This is allegedly the TFA Luke action figure:

http://serpentorslair.com/?p=42318

I'm not seeing anything about it on any of the regular sites, though, so I'm not sure if it's legit. It looks great, though.

Frankly, it looks too good to be real. The Black Series' quality has dropped exponentially since its inception. This thing looks to be several orders of magnitude better than the other TFA Black Series offerings, so I'd say it's probably a well-done custom.

if it's legit it looks like a Hot Toys Figure judging by the costume detail

Pretty sure that's a custom.

So am I reading the spoilers right and seeing that this movie is ripping off a ton of shit from the original Star Wars? Like whole plot beats?

Some interesting tidbits here about the TFA supportive characters;
http://www.starwars7news.com/2015/09/new-official-databank-entries-for-characters-and-places-from-star-wars-the-force-awakens.html

It doesn't give much important new info however; except that the "Unkar's thugs" previously mentioned works for a junk dealer called Unkar Plutt, and that the Kanjiklub gang lead by Tasu Leech is apparently an "intergalactic criminal organization."

This seems different than the trailers have led us to believe:

That's hardly news though?
We've know for quite a while now that Rey buys BB-8 on Jakku from another scavenger (called Leedo), and that Poe owned it first.
I can't remember if they mention this in an interview or a panel or something like that, but the lego set that was revealed some time ago definitively revealed that BB-8 belonged to Poe.

*sigh* It really gets my goat when people confuse "intergalactic" with "pangalactic".

From personal experience, I'd say 22-25 is the age when you get over stupid kiddy shit.

Of course, I was never the typical 22-25 year old. The typical person of my generation will probably have to hit their mid 30s-to-early 40s before they acquire some goddamn taste.

Sorry. That's just me not paying attention to panels and toys.  I do watch the panel videos, but not all and not closely (obviously).
