That's a D++-, man.
Double Plus D Minus was the name of my 7th band.

Double D was the name of your mom's band.
Yeah and their hit album was "Kickin' My Son to the Curb".
Don’t do drugs, unless you’re with me.
I prefer their earlier, lesser known album, "Neg Ruined My Nips."
It's not as accessible as their bigger tits hits, but I find it more personal. More emotional, if you will.

More menopausal, you mean.
Yes, that's it! Such a hard thing to capture in song.

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD
Took me awhile to get around to seeing this, but I knew I was gonna love it. I love MAD MAX and ROAD WARRIOR and all the reviewers I admire said they loved it.
I didn't love it. I'm not even sure I liked it...
The cars were very cool, the stunts were wild, the film had a great look to it...
But, even with all it's action, the film was just terribly boring.
I didn't give a crap about any of the characters and found them all to be dull as can be. Especially Max, whom you'd think would have a bit of charisma about him. But, none.

My Dinner with Andre (1981) - IMDb
This has got to be one of if not the most powerful thought provoking films that I have seen in a very very long time. It is inconceivable how this one got by me for so long. 10/10 *****

I just discovered what A great actor Sam Rockwell is.
Hell's yeah he is!! Not only that, but he dances in EVERY. SINGLE. MOVIE he's in (ish). If Sam Rockwell's in a movie, you can expect him to dance at some point. It's great.
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002) 10/10
and
Moon (2009) 10/10
First viewing of both films. I'm glad I knew little to nothing about what they were going to be about. Each film gave me exactly what I wanted and expected of a great movie experience. But then...
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) 0/10
From the first note of the opening song I knew that this re-telling was going to be awful, and I jumped ship early. I turned this off not long after the opening credits. I am a fan of the original BBC productions and books, not this.
You're a person after my own heart.

One of my favourite films of all time! I'm nearing completion of this Animation project I was hired for and once I'm done with that I'm going to start work on making a film that's pretty much directly inspired by this film (except with more than two actors, because the basic plot setup is different).

It's taken me too long to post this. Since May I think. So I'll keep it brief and limit it to the films I saw for the first time.
Journey into Fear (1943) - Solid faux-Welles pic. Not enough suspense. B-
Macbeth (1948) - Amazing real Welles pic. Great cinematography and set design. Must see. A
The Immortal Story (1968) - Intriguing and dark low scale Welles. Very good. B+
Tomorrowland (2015) - Underrated old school adventure flick. Falls apart in the third act, but still worth watching. B-
Mr. Arkadin (1955) - Intricate and engaging. Puzzling and thought-provoking. Good stuff. A-
Jurassic World (2015) - About as good as it could have been. Lots of fun. B
A Fantastic Fear of Everything (2012) - Entertaining and quirky little flick. B-
Village of the Damned (1960) - Classic mystery and suspense film. Kitschy fun. B
Inside Out (2015) - Incredibly, um, emotional film. I laughed, I cried. A-
Horrible Bosses 2 (2014) - Premise wearing thin but still some giggles to be had. B-
Rattle and Hum (1988) - A pseudo-raw look at my favorite band. The interviews fall flat but the concert bits are electric. B
Ant-Man (2015) - There's some fun to be had but there's a lot of wasted potential. Mostly it's forgettable. C+
Trainwreck (2015) - Seemingly a change of pace for a rom com but not really. Funny and effective, but too long. B-
To Catch a Thief (1955) - A lesser Hitchcock effort. Sort of dull and predictable honestly. C+
Wet Hot American Summer (2001) - Hilariously hilarious. B+
Barbarella (1968) - Too good to be bad. Very amusing. B
Twice Upon a Time (1983) - Too bad to be good. Very boring. D
The Big Chill (1983) - Charming and touching. What more could you want? A-
Idiocracy (2006) - Spot on satire. Maybe too silly at times, but isn't that the point? B+
Valkyrie (2008) - An amazing story made empty. B-
Edge of Tomorrow (2014) - Much much better than it should have been. B+
Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015) - How can you not love this franchise? B
Things to Come (1936) - Not much story here, but an interesting look into the future (of the past). B-
The Stranger (1946) - Fantastic Wellesian suspense film. Good enough for me. B
Tommy (1975) - Very strange but also very captivating. Great music, obviously. B
Blackmail (1929) - Light on story but a lot of great Hitchcockian suspense here. B
Murder! (1930) - There is a story here but I'm not sure it makes any sense. The movie's okay. C+
Straight Outta Compton (2015) - Somewhat conventional, but engaging enough to get you into it even if you aren't weren't a fan of the music. B
Jaws (1975) - I said I wasn't going to do any movies I'd seen already but I did see Jaws on the big screen for the first time (in 35mm) and it was the best it's ever been. Thought it was worth mentioning. A+
Black Mass (2015) - The whole is less than the sum of its parts. Some great scenes and performance, but not quite a great film. B+
The Martian (2015) - Funny, compelling, insightful, inspirational, and really quite sensational. A great film. A-

...I approve of this Orson binge.
Interesting to read that you rated Arkadin. It seems to generally be considered as Welles' worst film but I think it's terrific.

Yep. Turner Classic Movies thankfully played all of his films in May for his 100th birthday so I made sure to record all the ones I hadn't seen. Still need to get around to The Trial, Othello, Chimes at Midnight, and F is for Fake. I also rewatched The Third Man last night and it's as good as ever.
Interested to hear that Mr. Arkadin is rated so lowly. I think it's pretty great if occasionally hard to follow. But maybe it's been criticized based on lesser versions? I saw the 106min Criterion edit which is surely better than whatever hack jobs have been around for the last 60 years.

The original European cut, the abbreviated American cut....or....the "love conquers all" cut?
I don't know. I caught it on TV, and there was no mention made of which cut it was in the description.
!!!SPOILERS!!!
It ends with the main character a vegetable trapped in his own private mental world.
SPOILER ALERT!
