...is that what I think it is?

Isn't that NSFW? What business does THAT have as an forum avatar?

Nobody sang The Bunny Song in years…

ShaneLSD, could you kindly revise your avatar? It looks a bit too much like something X rated is going on there.

It looks like projectile vomit from a horror movie to me.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

That was going to be my second guess. ;)

Still a bit dicey for an avatar...

Jeez... Lifestyles of the rich and famous! :)

BTW, is that first thing an editor?

More like Lifestyles of the broke and only slightly infamous.

It is a Steenbeck edit table, I use it for reference when doing colour corrections, so I can correct back to the print.

Unfortunately there was no forklift at the new address, so unloading it was mostly Faith, Fear and oh Fu#*!

I would have sweated bullets worrying that forklift would tip over!

Do the new neighbors think you're a Doc Brown sort of fellow yet? ;)

Wow a Steenbeck! I edited a couple of my student films on one of those. Great machines - especially after using hand cranks :D . I can still hear all the little sounds it makes.

BTW: how accurate are the colors on your machine? I remember ours being yellow tinted and a bit out of focus.

What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.

I showed my wife the photos of your "moving day" and said "See, it could be worse"

I thought that was a Steenbeck! Too cool! If I could only own one piece of really cool film equip it would be that - so many classic films edited on one of those....

Wow that brings back bad memories of singlehandedly having to move two steennecks across campus on broken brick cobblestones then cramming them into a small room the size of a closet. Those beasts are not easy to move at all so my hats off to you poita!!

Yeah the Steeny fell getting it off the truck and sliced my knee open. Eight stitches.

Nice. For one of my old jobs I once had to put a 1.8 ton (1800kg/4000lbs) safe onto a pallet and move it to the loading dock from the showroom, without any assistance, or the use of a forklift (a forklift wouldn't fit in the showroom) so that a customer could come and pick it up on that day*. I couldn't strap it onto the pallet either because we were out of straps. So I moved it first and then put it on the pallet. A job which with 2 people would probably take no more than 10 minutes with one person took longer than 2 hours!! I'll leave your imagination to tell you how I got it into the centre of the pallet (since a pallet is wider than the safe).

I didn't injure myself and I didn't tip it over, but there was a lot of verbal obscenities and frustration especially in parts of the floor that kept kinking the pallet-jack.

*The customer was supposed to collect it on another day. It was a genuine 'grade 7' jeweller's safe.

We replaced the light source with something a lot more accurate, and replaced the screen with Darin rearpro material, and the colours are extremely close to how it looks projected. But a lot more convenient and the Steeny sits next to the colour suite, so far better for referencing.

I picked it up for $80 from a government auction.

For anyone that would like to see some more of the 16mm THX:

Wow, this is actually the first time I've seen the entire film in its unaltered state. It's held up incredibly well.
(And is surprisingly view-able without any sound.)

Also what version of the film is this?
I haven't visited this thread in a couple of months, and last time I checked the scene where SEN talks with the children was partially in black-and-white.
This version also didn't have the Things to Come / Buck Rogers scene at the beginning. Wasn't one of these in the theatrical release?

(Again, I'm sorry if this has already been discussed/explained, but I'm not quite up to speed with the progress of this project.)

What you probably saw of the SEN scene was a monochrome version done just so people could see what the 16mm print looks like sans all the color issues that needs to be fixed.

Poita has told me the Buck Rogers scene was omitted to get the file size down. It's on the print. :)
