Wasn't there also a rumor Harrison was signed for the next film though?
Force ghost Han, maybe.
Oh wait...

Judging by the hilt on the toy version, it seems possible that the two emitters on the crossguard are meant to do the job of protecting the hand, while also providing two additional smaller blades protruding a tright angles.
Of course, that could be totally wrong! I am judging this from a tiny piece of plastic, after all.
I do recall that Ralph McQuarrie's early saber hilt designs were based on flashlights with flared rims -- for the exact reason that that would make a good handguard. (Probably it was dropped because that design wouldn't fit very well on a utility belt.)
Or maybe they were worried they would look like flashlights. ;)

Sorry! Shows how young I am, I guess.
I was thinking of the lightsaber tests on the SW Blu-ray bonus features, where they try out in-camera effects for blue, white, and red lightsabers -- all of uniform colors.

In other TFA leak news today (and linked to more people who will probably never work on a film again)
Someone tried to sell the Jakku set design plans on ebay today. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/charliebigpotaters/m.html?item=321846936747&hash=item4aef9284ab&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
Auction is down, but they posted a bunch of images.

Blueprints for a Pirates Cove location (with X-wings), something called Carousel, the Falcon, a droid, a speeder called Land Yacht, and an engine.

I remembering reading that around the same time when they said Ford was going to have a rather large role in the film.
I also believe Daisy hinted on returning for the following films, but didn't directly say so. I doubt Disney/Lucasfilm would have a new set of heroes in the following films... they made add some, though.
Carousel? That doesn't bode well for any characters over 30. ;)
Looks like they managed to sell a couple things, including some items from the next 007 movie.

Yep. And a TFA crew shirt. Seems that a Pinewood employee is responsible.

They've been selling Star Wars styled Hot Wheels in the theme parks for some time now. Wish they would bring back the custom vans! ;)

Yeah my local grocery store has been selling OT themed Hot Wheels for at least the last 6 months.
They should make some nustormtrooper sneakers. Seriously, that black line running across the helmet looks like a design you'd find on a pair of snazzy shoes.
Give them time. I just wonder if they can avoid the merchandising hell Episode One opened up. ;)

As long as they don't release anything THIS gross, I won't complain...too much.
(Seriously though, what the hell were they thinking when they made this? Even as a kid in the 90's I found this thing bizarre. They essentially want you to french-kiss Jar Jar's diseased looking tongue. Ew.)

What was George thinking when he approved it? That it's battery operated to make the tongue rotate only makes it worse. ;)
The TFA merchandise we've seen seems tasteful so far.

I was just surprised by the "From the new film Star Wars: The Force Awakens" deceleration on the box. Themed tie-in cars is one thing, implying that it's in the film is another.

You know, seeing these two "toys" together is probably one of the weirdest things I've ever seen.
Not to mention the most suggestive.
The worst part is that now the Jar Jar lollipop kind of makes sense. It's a candy you can eat. A gross looking candy that you can eat, but at least it has a purpose.
What the hell were you supposed to do with the E.T. finger? Seriously? Were you supposed to take part in the cheapest cosplay of all time, or did they just expect you to go around and creepily poke your friends with your wrinkled E.T. finger? Seriously, what was the point (no pun intended) of this toy? It's mind boggling weird.

I actually got the finger as a present back in 1982. I blame the complete lack of Dark Crystal toys on the market for this. At least it was more screen accurate than some of the other E.T. toys back then. The official plush toys were hideous.
And apparently somebody thought it would be a good idea to revisit this with the whole hand!

P.S. If anybody wants to get me something really nice for my birthday, this is in the current Prop Store auction. ;)
Unless there's some other cute character in TFA we haven't seen yet. I'm betting an electronic BB-8 is what kids will be clamoring for this Christmas.

Is this your first time on the internet? ;-)
I've been on the fence for quite a while now, but I finally think I'm climbing over to the "I don't want to know or see anything more about TFA from now on" side (I reserve the right to do a complete u-turn in the coming months LOL).
VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.

Well it mostly has to do with the fact that they're both licensed toys for two children's movies.
If this was actually something someone on the internet had made I really wouldn't have been that surprised. It's the fact that you could get this in any store that sold toys or candy that really gets to me.

I'd feel uncomfortable pulling that.
But it probably wouldn't stop me.
