Hi,

I don't know if it's necessary or not, but I thought I'd mention I have the Spanish release of the 2 DVD remastered edition which includes the Spanish language track in 5.1 as well as DTS-ES if needed. I would only need to rip the audio.

Indecently, I have the original, unaltered version of the song INSTRUMENTS OF DESTRUCTION by N.R.G. which they released back in 2001 for free as an .mp3 download. See it mentioned here:

The lyrical differences are discussed here:

For anyone who is interested, I am slowly but surely building an isolated music track for this. I began yesterday and got up to the point where the 2005 narrative begins. It is proving to be a bit of a challenge. The Transformers theme by Lion took some time as it seems they did not have the synth section in the film mix that otherwise can be heard on the album version of the song. I finally found a good spot to make it sound as it should without being jarring. I'll keep everyone updated on my progress.

That sounds awesome. Can't wait to hear it.

I have been slow the past few days due to fact that the second track from the Intrada Special Collection/ Sony Legacy release of the score is longer than used in the film. One part was especially tricky, no matter how I cut the section out to match up the length of what how it goes in the film it just sounded too sharp in the edit. This resulted in me going to a small but unavoidable "evil" of doing a splice to the track and fading out on the part that was causing the issue and fading into the other end where I needed to go, which thankfully made it sound like 99.9% of what was originally heard in the film soundtrack edit.

Now I've noticed a portion of the same time length I took out of the track suddenly is added back in during Laserbeak's report to Megatron. So again it will require me to listen very carefully through all the sound effects and vocals to hear what section of music during that moment is reused and where the insertion occurs. Out of morbid curiosity, I checked youtube for the same music piece from the Botcon '97 release TIL ALL ARE ONE (which there bears the name"2005") and sure enough, it's shorter than what is on the Intrada/Sony Legacy by about 40-45 seconds. I do have a copy of the Botcon ´97, but it is a copy and I know the way it was done means that there's a small amount of loss in the range. If I had the release OR had a way to get my hands on FLAC /WAV files of it, it'd be great. I could still use the Intrada/Sony Legacy release but use the small transition parts from the Botcon '97 whenever necessary to make certain edit points less problematic.

Don't get me wrong, I love the challenge of this! Been a few good years before I've jumped into the deep end of the sound editing pool like this. It also does point out to me that it is clear there were edits that happened as these tracks on the Intrada/Sony Legacy CD are most likely the original composition lengths and that means they have meant to have more during the Autobots preparing to head to Earth and less during Laserbeak's report to Megatron. Interesting indeed!

Well, it's time to get back to it. And wish me luck! More luck than you can possibly imagine...

I could kick myself for not seeing this as a kid. Rocky 4 has always been my favorite movie, mostly due to Vince's score. It'll always be my favorite movie soundtrack, but Vince has so much more free reign here. I remember when I first saw the movie 10 years ago, the first thing I did afterwards was play songs from Transformers while playing Rocky 4 on tv muted, just to see how the songs sync up (Drago and Unicron's themes being a good example).

does this one have the Star Wars type credits at the start of the film. Forgive me for not reading back. my VHS I have i bought a long, long time ago has that. I am hoping cause that's the way I remember it.

Going back and looking over all the work/content you plan n including is simply mind blowing.  This will truly be the definitive edition of Transformers: The Movie.  I can't wait to see this.  If you have complete menus and disc/cover art, this will be unbeatable by even the major studios.

I have the BotCon release, I can rip cues when I get home from work tonight. Which tracks would you like?

“That’s impossible, even for a computer!”

“You don't do ‘Star Wars’ in Dobly.”

Mitch, I cannot say what will be there in terms of video as I am only doing the isolated music track. Of course it would be good to know so perhaps someone else who is working on the video area will be able to answer your question. Sorry I can't be of more help to you.

Looking over the previous pages, it seems that Space Kaijuu is the main person overseeing this project so all knowledge on what version(s) of the film will be included should be his.

Pretty sure the "SD International TV & video version" mentioned in the first post will have the Star Wars-esque scrolling intro text, since that's the version that was used outside of North America.

After a few days from my last post AND some very time consuming listening, I finally found the right edit for the problem I was having with the "2005" section, therefore fixing my previous edit so it became 100% correct. A nice victory, considering it was pratically lost behind Ironhide's footsteps just before he transforms.

One more minor edit to go on the section where Laserbeak reports to Megatron and I should be ready to roll onwards to the attack on the shuttle and then beyond. It is truly amazing how much they do manage to splice and dice the music where you have to have several listens to find the way they did it. I think about halfway through (or at least at some point soon) I will let someone have what I've done to that point to listen how it sounds. It's good to get feedback after just going on my own decisions.

The Hub (now Discovery Kids) played the film in HD with the scrolling text intro a few years back.

In 4:3 or 16:9?

^ That’s a shame. I’d love to have an HDTV broadcast in 4:3 (with either form of the credits).
