You know after seeing Interstellar and Gravity I have to say I think the next Star Trek movie will really have to step up it's game if this series is going to continue.  It's clear the viewers are out there for stories where space travel is a danger and there are no real villains but instead have good characters and intense danger and that are told in new ways and if Star Trek wants to be a mega hit franchise they have to get on board with this.

I get the feeling that people will expect more creativity in the look of alien planets and the way the films are shot.

Maybe I am way off base and the next movie will be a huge hit no matter what but I have a feeling after these two films the average movie goer will expect a little more out of the next big screen Trek film.

"William T. Riker"

I am not going to bother asking (or Google-ing) what the "T." stands for... I'm just going to assume it's either "Tiberius" or "The."

Also, that was a 15 second video stretched out to almost two minutes because who knows why.

Because it's inexplicably hilarious.

Besides, I'm sure that you have NEVER in ANY of your projects padded a joke so far that it collapsed under its own bloated weight.

The 15 seconds with the Riker fish was funny and disturbing.  The rest was boring.

My projects are ALWAYS perfect.

Uh, actually, the "T" stands for Thomas. As depicted in season six, episode 24 "Second Chances" of Star Trek: The Next Generation. After beaming down to an abandoned science outpost on Nervala IV, it's discovered that due to a transporter malfunction a duplicate of William Riker has been living on the station for the past 8 years. Struggling with his identity, the duplicate Riker adopts his middle name, Thomas, as a new first name.

A buffer malfunction in the transporter creates an eight year out of date duplicate of William Riker. The new Riker struggling with his identity adopts his middle name, Thomas, as his new first name.

Ah...  I recently finished Voyager.  It was quite emotional to see it end, because I did not watch it very consistently and so I'd been watching it on Netflix for over a year, it was kinda sad to let the characters go.  The characters are what I loved about the series.  Many of the episodes were kinda dumb and had poor plots, but the characters kept me interested in it.

That being said, I'm now on about the 5th episode of Deep Space Nine, and so far I love everything about it and it's been superior to Voyager in almost every way.

If you think the first season of DS9 is better than Voyager as a whole, you're entire brain will explode by the end.

Good, I've quite grown tired of that old thing.

Well maybe it would stand a chance of lasting more then a couple of seasons then.  Lately Sci-Fi has been having a hard time getting the ratings needed to last on network TV, so despite the fact that I could not watch it I support Sci-Fi moving online where the fanbase is stronger and it stands a chance of not ending in the middle of a plot arc.

The smell of a giant stack of money?

And once again, the deck that was stacked against Enterprise is glossed over.

And where did geek.com get this image from? It's not the Abram's Enterprise.

It looks a lot better and a lot more like the show version.  I would love to see that on the big screen.

That's Gabriel Köerner's concept for a reboot Enterprise, which 90% of websites will use thinking its the JJprise.

In other news:

http://trekmovie.com/2015/06/18/paramount-acquires-startrekbeyond-com-invites-star-trek-beyond-fan-creator-to-pitch-tv-series/

I don't believe this for a second. Guy happens to own domain Paramount wants, so Paramount (who doesn't have the rights to Star Trek on television) wants to hear his pitch. Either this isn't true at all and the guy is capitalizing on the fact that we all know the name of his concept he bought a domain for but never actually made anything, or he had the opportunity to make thousands of dollars for a domain Paramount needs and he threw it away to pitch to people who have no power to do anything with said pitch.

Besides, if this guy gets a pitch based on owning a domain name, what about the people who have a history with Star Trek (Robert Meyer Burnett, Michael Dorn, etc.) who have pitches who are being ignored by the studio?
