It shocks and angers me at just how much these films have been tampered with. I can't wait to see the results of your efforts.

I'm not even that big of a Disney guy, but this just looks awesome.  Can't wait to see the final result!  :-D

I agree. It's shameful what Disney has been doing to their "restorations". I've all but given up on collecting their blu-rays because of their lack of care. I do own Alice in Wonderland and this makes me sad.

It's amazing how much more detail you can see in this scan than the bluray. Shameful Disney

 Completely agree!

Disney is the worst company concerning its Blurays releases, and I don't support them at all!

There is a IB technicolor 16 mm print of Dumbo available on eBay for $2999, a little rich for my blood but perhaps it could be bought to be scanned if enough people wanted to pitch in as we did with the Alice print.

$3000 for a 16mm print? I don't know that much about film prices, but that sounds very expensive for 16mm. I'm sure I'll get called out on this, though.

Although, if we were to get it, maybe one of the talented folks here could use it to adjust the color timing of the BD. To my knowledge, 16mm has a lower resolution than BD.

That's crazy expensive for 16mm. It is much lower in res than BD. I'd wait for a 35mm at that price.

I hope it was a typo, and he meant $29.99.

I'd wait for five 35mms at that price.

I can get Dumbo for around a grand or so if we ever wanted to do it.

Amazing work I remember watching this as a kid.  A classic in no stretch of the word but, the Blu Ray from Disney can make it seem like a new film.

Hi people. Any news for this project ? Is it still on ?

Thanks to answer

Me too!

Very much!

I own the Bluray but I can't watch it because I'm furious at Disney in the way they're "restoring" these.

This project is awesome! How is it coming along?

Agreed!  One of my favorites when I was growing up.

Ditto - I think the three of us were just burned out/busy for a time, but I know antcu and I are getting back into it, and I imagine poita is too...

What do you mean the three of you?

Each one has a raw scan and will be working on it?

Or each one has eg. one reel or something?

No, I meant that Antcu and I burned ourselves out, and I assumed that poita (plus his work commitments and stuff) was probably the same way. I don't have a copy of this, and I believe Antcu doesn't either.

How much work is left on this print? Is it near completion or pretty far off?

Been nearly a year since the last update. Any word, or has this project been abandoned?
