I know, I know, I'm sorry :D

Unfortunately, this is what happens when talking writing in an international forum. At least we tried to keep it in English ;)

P.S.: I too feel confused when I hear read about, say, the David Letterman Show and american politicians ;D

Stop linking and quoting Italian stuff! It runs counter to my ethnocentric biases!

                                                Welcome To
The SvenRanger Show
[ you probably know my more famous uncle, Svengoolie ]

Anyway ... uncle did his show with a segment on the performers of the old B&W horror flick Jungle Captive, recently on the MeTV network. In it was a role played by the young American actor ... Philip Brown.

Name ring a bell?

Well, it rang a bell with the House Un-American Activities Committee when they investigated a possible communist actor's association he helped start in the 1950's. As a result of lost work, he moved to England and resumed his acting career there.

Some years later, a young and truly un-American director came over to direct his new movie. He wanted someone with a strong American accent and Brown perfectly filled that bill. He got the small part.

The director?              George "I'm a 60's radical" Lucas
The movie?                 Star Wars
Phil Brown's role?     Uncle Owen !!

Check it on YouTube (the Phil Brown mention begins @ 32sec) ..

It's as if they really thought they had something with this character.

Did this some time ago, never uploaded, though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=padnFCUn37g

It's not great and it's not a movie edit, just a test to explore what can be done with a "bad" movie.

Would you like to see more of "Samurai Qui-Gon"? :D

JEDIT: link fixed (I hate youtube...)

This is genius...

One Man Star Wars

...the bit where he's doing both sides of the intercom in the garbage-masher scene is hilarious. Such a good impression of Mark Hamill.

Good thing they don't know about the other versions of slave Leia that have been made since the 90's. What a maroon!

I'll wager he's one of those far-right fundies who get into a tizzy if a single punch is thrown in a Saturday morning cartoon.

Face of a douche, mind of a bean. "Why the slave outfit? I don't have any answers"

Well maybe because it was in the bloody movie you cretin.

What's the matter with these people??? They were alive when "Return of the Jedi" came out, this doesn't compute!

And this should be a non-story, "some random douche complains about a toy he doesn't understand"... no wonder people hate Fox News.

He was obviously too cool for those silly Spock movies, so he never bothered seeing it back in the day (or any day after, for that matter).

That's what I was thinking, this guy was probably the stereotypical jock who peaked in high school and now he's a douche with children.

Video about model maker Martin Bower who worked on 'Space: 1999' (A heavy visual influence on the spacecraft in Star Wars) and 'Alien'...

Some really cool kit-bashed (and vacuum cleaner bashed) sci-fi vehicles.
