I know it would break continuity with TRM, but what if Jabba had Fat Bastard's voice? You can patch in a little Shrek too...

Where were you in '77?

Maybe Fat Bastard, no on Shrek.  And don't worry about TRM continuity, I already broke it with Jar Jar.

I meant if you needed a word FB doesn't actually say, Shrek might have it. The Scottish character Mike Meyers played in So I Married an Axe Murderer is pretty much a dry run for both character voices.

Lulu the singer could replace some of the Luke Skywalker dialogue.

Her opening warbles to "Shout" would match Mark's open mouth during his "Nooooooooooooooooooooo" after Ben dies, but I rather like the idea of repeating the Obi-Wan "Nooooooooooooooooo" gag from the first ricdiculous edit (so they rhyme).

Maybe the real Lulu could replace Jedi Rocks or something.

 With a few exceptions, I don't believe in using anything pre-1975. ;-)

Also, I'll just put this here in case...though I probably won't use it, you never know.

Maybe you could transfer dialogue from some scenes into others and repeat the same series of dialogue multiple times (that is, use the same dialogue in one scene for another scene), turning the repetitious dialogue in the Jabba scene into a running gag?

Hopefully I didn't word that too badly to get the idea across. :P

Figures...I knew I should have not been lazy and reworded my comment as no doubt this sentence should be.

I mean that, playing on the superfluous dialogue of the Jabba scene, you could have other characters tell each other things that they've already told each other, having not just that one superfluous scene, but transforming a large part of the movie into glorious superfluity.

Or maybe not. The gag might not be clear enough for most viewers for them to find it funny.

Might be a little too subtle.  But repetitive dialogue always has potential.

One line which is worthy of hacking is VADER: "Have you found any droids?"

You could run this line throughout the R:OT and change the last word with whatever James Earl words you can find.

eg. "Have you found any shoes?"

"Have you found any American Dollars?" etc

A better way to underline the redundancy of the Jabba scene could be to replace Jabba's subtitles* with those of Greedo, and Han's dialogue in the Jabba scene with the dialogue from the Greedo scene, having them repeat the earlier scene word for word.

*He does speak Huttese in that scene, right?

Maybe that's still too subtle, but not any more so than your *DELIBERATE CREATIVE DECISION*'s that you used in the other edits....

"Have you found any angels" should be used multiple times, implying that he's been on a continual search for them since his youth (which is why he would ask people if they were one--just in case).

You could do a callback to the cow sound FX gag from AOTR, when the Banthas appear. And do it again for the Jedi SE shot of a Bantha herd. :)

You could have the Star Destroyer at the beginning piloted by a Gungan and crash onto the surface using the downed ship shot from the TFA trailer.

Just before the crash you could have Vader escape from the scene in a shuttle (presumably with Leia on board) reaffirming his hatred for sand.

Two stupid, probably not funny Ideas:

Have Leia and Tarkin call everyone Governor (or if possible Guv'ner)

Have Tarkin kill everyone in the conference room with gas or something, perhaps using the shot of motti being choked by Vader for the effect.

How about having the cow sound be Ben's yell to scare off the Sandpeople?

Author
Time

Followed by a Sandperson screaming "Jesus Christ!"  Which I guess would mean the Sandpeople would all speak as Holy Grail knights?

Author
Time

Seeing as contextually they are robbing him while he is unconscious you could have the sandpeople speak with samples of the Time Bandits

Something you might be able to use?
