A few other language versions would be a giggle but it would require a new voice dub for the reintegrated deleted scenes :
My favorite parts of it were Vader's altered dialog, and the completely changed ending to the dogfight scenes at the end.

I have this french 1977 version of the comic book. :)
I could make french and english subtitles .srt for this edit. But, well, I'm lazy when it becomes to work again on an old fanedit.
I usualy make subtitles for my newest edits. Mostly always french, because I'm french, and english because it's easier for everybody to follow the dialogue if you're not english speaker.
About new dub... well, yeah, it would not only need new dub for the deleted scenes (the french SE already have new Han Solo's voice actor on the Jabba scene though...) but it would also needs to find new voices by the same french actor who makes JEJ's voice, for Vader. And since I used some interviews and speach of JEJ that are not on any movie, it could be difficult to make a true french version of this edit.
I don't know about the newer versions of the movies, but I grew up watching the OOT movies in French as much as English (maybe more depending on which channels were playing them) and I remember Vader's voice being excellent! I remember Chico, too. :)
Are there any preservations of the OOT with the French audio track? I'd love to have those, including the version where Chewie is Chico. (instead of just buying random old VHS tapes on eBay or something...)
Chewie is called Chiktaba (nickname Chico) only in the first movie.
In ESB and ROTJ it's Chewbacca and Chewie.
The 2004 DVD versions are the same as the old dub, but Han (Yann...) have a new actor for dubbing the Jabba's scene. It's quite jarring.
I heard the dub on the bluray are the same. But I did not see them.
Aw man, no one wants the 2004 version! :p You don't know of any laserdisc preservations over there, huh? I'd settle for a VHS transfer!
Don't have any original cut french versions exept my 80's P&S bootleg VHS (with few seconds cut here and there and overal bad sound now).
Big fan of this edit. I just happened across this and thought that it was a bit more effective than the James Earl Jones redub

I joined this site just to say how much I loved this!! The whole thing was just absolutely fantastic, from the addition of the deleted scenes, to the dialog changed and the added gore!! Absolutely awesome, keep up the good work!
Thanks, caligulathegod and DarthBeer :)
And in case you don't know the sequel mixing Empire and Jedi (and changing many things) is already released and is called The War of the Star II: The Future in Motion.

This fanedit and its sequel can be seen in streaming at veoh.com (for the moment...)

Videos are sadly down now. Took a bit more than 48 hours... it was a test and now I know the answer.... Those fanedits are still available at fanedit.info though.
You could put them up on Vimeo? Frink's edits have been left alone there.
Where were you in '77?

I did not want to cut them in several parts on Vimeo (and I don't want to pay to have an account to post full lenght edits if there are chances my videos are taken down) but hey, maybe that's what I'm gonna do.
When I introduce someone to the concept of fan-edits, I usually give them either The Phantom Edit or SW:Revisited.
The next time I see them, I give the this one.
^This is actually usually the first fan edit I tell people about.
A fellow I gave a copy of this too just told me "this is the greatest f*****n movie I've ever seen. Is there more?"
Did you answer "yes"?

I pointed him to the Ridiculous Menace.
He shot himself last night. Not sure it the two are related.
How could he have just told you, if he shot himself last night? ;)

I actually don't have a copy of that. I need to remedy that, thanks for the reminder. ;)
Thanks for the kind words again guyz.
Edit is up on vimeo as a two parts video (main page on my blog or go to "fanedits" and scroll down to the edit)
This fanedit is now available on VIMEO as a single video (and better quality than the two parts video previously uploaded there). Check my blog for more info (link on the post above)
My silent Star Wars fanedits also were re-uploaded in slightly better quality (their VIMEO links remains the same). And I’ll re-upload TWOTS part II next week, too.
