On youtube, I bumped into a few people that take the Bible to be the literal truth to the extreme. Because there are a few passages that talk about the corners of the earth and such, they believe the Earth to be flat. I kid you not. They actually believe the Earth is flat and not a globe. They believe all pictures and films showing the Earth to a sphere are fakes. They also believe that space travel is impossible, so every NASA mission to space is faked.

I posted a picture somewhere in the General Star Wars discussion a couple of years ago of Luke gazing at the trio of Force ghosts at the end of ROTJ and being surprised to not only see Hayden is Anakin, but also Ewan is Obi-Wan and CPY is Yoda. I can't find this picture anywhere, and I want to show it to my wife. I'm sad. :(

Ah, yes ... modern day flat Earthers and geocentricists. Before 2008, I didn't even think such people existed. It's a sad shame that they do.

Hey, I love science and history as much as the next guy and I believe we should always be searching for the truth and these people are idiots, but I don't think it is a shame they exist. For me that is going too far, they just believe something different then I do and I think it's stupid but in the end they are not hurting anyone, so I don't really care one way or another if they exist.
There are other groups out there that really hurt people, I would rather focus on being upset by them.
