Technicalities never stopped anyone here before.

All too true. Which reminds me ...

Everyone's familiar with the Noghri from the Thrawn Trilogy, right? Well, I got to thinking about their visual appearance and noticed ...

 And then?

Oh, good.  Although you really should have initiated it there as well...

I wonder if Weird Al will come up with an Episode 7 song before the year is out? He wrote The Saga Begins mostly from plot spoilers.

So I'm reading Tarkin and so far it's been sort of interesting. Tarkin's childhood was very brutal!

I hope he doesn't write one from our TFA spoiler thread.  He'd be better off writing it from our 4k thread.

I'd rather see a follow-up to "Nature Trail to Hell". ;-)

I've been hoping for years that would actually become a movie, with ridiculously over the top 3D effects of course. ;)

I'm constantly baffled by people that have been here for a long time, know how this late 1990's forum software works, and yet still don't bother to fix their posts.  Do you guys just not check to see how things worked out when you posted?  Do you not know how to fix it?  Are you seeing something other than the gigantic image with 75% of it cut off that I'm seeing?

So what's the random thought in regard to the image?

I know I find the modern coloring incredibly drab. They could have at least tinted his lenses red.

I hope that horrendous re-color isn't from the new Marvel omnibus.

What the hell were they thinking? Slathering a thick, anachronistic layer of ugly digital coloring on top of 70's artwork? That's stylistically insane... It's like taking a film from the 70's and inserting a bunch garish cgi crap into it...

Oh...

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh..............................

The remastered books are hideous the preview i saw for empire strikes back even has a terrible cover with the 2004 Emperor.

Unless they digitally painted in the new emperor i think the book is the same.

The recoloring will be terrible though.

I think except for ROTJ dark horse hired digital chameleon to redo the colors closer to the original books.

In the much more expensive collected editions from Marvel they are available.

Marvel/disney is reprinting the whole series though if you want just the movie collections its going to be the bad new versions.

With Episode 7 coming out this was probably inevitable...

Just once, I'd like to see them simply continue the merchandising gag.

Why is Lone Star's Schwartz-saber blue on the cover? It's supposed to be yellow -- YELLOW!!!

Revisionism -- revisonism everywhere!

 ALLOL

The funny thing about this joke is that we will be making it for years to come, and all forget where it came from.  Meanwhile, skyjedi will keep pretending it isn't a thing.

My thoughts:

-I hope Disney does the right thing and restores the Fox logo and fanfare for the 5 of the 6 films (customer service understood my dilemma and my complaint went to marketing for evaluation so...good news!)

-Ewok Adventures on special edition Blu-ray and DVD (by special edition, I mean remastered picture and sound and loaded with extras, no CGI changes!) and complete series sets of Droids and Ewoks to coincide with VII. Who's with me? ;)

-It'd be great if some miracle happens and Fox manages to keep permanent distribution rights for I, II, III, V, and VI along with already permanent rights to IV.

-I suppose Fox also has permanent rights to any other Lucasfilm co-productions?

Does permanent mean "will never enter the public domain, ever"?

Nobody sang The Bunny Song in years…

I was thinking "Disney keeps the film, copyright, and streaming rights while Fox gets everything else".

The Nightly Show host Larry Wilmore did a bit last night on how George Lucas plans to build affordable housing on the huge tracts of land he owns in Marin County, much to the apparent dismay of all the rich people who live there.

Larry went on the forgive George for the prequels, (listing many of the things about them we could agree on here) but reminded everyone Han still shot first. :)
