Wait a minute, didn't Luke burn Vader's suit at the end of Jedi? We all know that, right?

Ahahahahhaaahaha!
Thank you for the laugh.
He should have mentioned something about TFA contributing to global warming in there. If he's going to make statements no one's going to take seriously, then he may as well have gone for the gusto.
To be clear, I didn't bother to read his thoughts on TFA. I thought it was funny that he says he's "cautious" about the movie in this thread while insisting it will suck in another thread.

And while insisting in yet another thread that there is no point in debating anything about Star Wars anyway because we will all die someday.
Can't we just give him his own forum?

Please, no... We shouldn't even joke about such things, lest we tempt cruel fate...
"These deadly rays will be your death..."
(flashback from September 1998)
I seriously doubt Episode I will be that terrible. I mean even Return Of Jedi wasn't that bad if you take out the Ewoks. It's not like the 80s when we had Caravan of Courage. I mean we're going to have Liam Nesson, Ewan MacGregor, and Samuel L Jackson in the new trilogy! We get to see Anakin before he became Darth Vader! And George Lucas is returning to the director's chair this time instead of that nobody Richard Marquand! Sure the Special Editions cast some doubt, but he's just trying to perfect his vision of the Star Wars saga. He's not to blame for Howard the Duck or Radioland Murders: he didn't have any creative control over those films. So I'm confident we are in good hands and Episode I is going to be just as good if not better than The Empire Strikes Back.
And here I thought you were born the Son of the God of Nihilism. Nice to see you were only adopted.
But George Lucas gave such masterpieces as American Graffiti, THX 1138, Star Wars, and produced the Indiana Jones trilogy. John Williams is coming back to score the film. Ian McDiarmid is reprising his role as Palpatine. And that new character Darth Maul is sure to become as iconic as Darth Vader was in the Original Trilogy. Can't wait until Anakin gets into a lightsaber duel with him in Episode III and turns to the dark side. Man, first the Matrix blew my mind, and now The Phantom Menace is definitely going to be the best film of 1999.
I made the sensible decision to wait until actually seeing it before making my mind up. But then again, I'm sensible.
When dealing with the Star wars franchise, anything can happen.
All this thread needs now is Barney Gumble burping in an endless loop to a Japanese woman saying "#8" in an endless loop. Then it will be complete.
Be careful what you wish for! ;)

Anyway, will the internet survive the number of people trying to watch the trailer, presumably next week?
Where were you in '77?
It's a shame that there are no kid actors appearing in TFA, because Jake Lloyd was one of the most promising child actors of his time. Too bad he starred in Jingle All The Way before his career-defining performance as Anakin in Episode I. He got to work with the legendary George Lucas at the age of nine. Too bad he quit acting soon after the film's release; he could have given Osment a run for his money.
Putting "TFA" in your post doesn't make it relevant to the thread.
I may have gone too far in a few places.
But seriously, I don't think there's going to be any annoying kid actors in TFA, because where would they belong in the film? Unless they start doing flashbacks now in Star Wars films.

LOL
Calling George Lucas legendary and saying any of his movies are masterpieces is hilarious, really. Especially if you've seen pretty much any actual masterpieces from actual legendary directors.
Lucas is (as far as someone can be while still breathing) legendary.
He is behind two of the most popular film series ever. Started what would become Pixar, gave Harrison his career break, Lucasarts innovated so much in the early days that you still see games with functions first introduced by them. ILM has it's fingerprints over 80's 90's and 00's cinema like no other FX house. The editing technology that fan editors and independent film makers use pretty much began with Lucas.
Even when he cocks up it adds to the Legend that he is.
The Red Tails interview with Oprah is pure 'silly' Lucas.
He made three good movies.
THX 1138, American Graffiti and Star Wars.
He screwed them up afterwards but the world would be a lesser place without them.
It's a good movie but the world wouldn't really be a dark place without THX 1138, American Graffiti is a good movie and Star Wars is well... Star Wars, but those 3 movies don't put Lucas on a Top 10 list for sure.
George Lucas is an absolutely brilliant businessman and hustler, he's incredibly wealthy but directed less than 10 movies in his life, Martin Scorsese and Stanley Kubrick and such are definitely much better directors but had to basically give their entire lives to films to become recongised and rich, George Lucas just basically cashed out on an entire franchise and has pretty much sat comfortably for the rest of his life.
Other than Red Tails, it's a shame his last 3 movies are actually utter shit.

Legendary director Stanley Kubrick was a fan. ;)
“If I made as much money as George Lucas, I would not decide to become a studio mogul. I cannot understand why he doesn’t want to direct films anymore, because American Graffiti and even Star Wars were very good.”

That quote actually says a lot about Stanley Kubrick tbh. George Lucas became a studio mogul because it would eventually make him a billionaire. No amount of money would ever not make Stanley Kubrick a filmmaker, it was his entire life up until the day he died.

If Kubrick had earn the same amount of money than Lucas he would have spent it in making movies, I'm sure he would have use a few hundred millions in filming the Napoleon film he always wanted... he was truly passionate of movie making.
The statement below is true
The statement above is false
Lucas is a legend, and a film maker.
Kubrick is a legendary film maker.
They both have beards.

Each made at least one film taking place in space.
