He's got point. Whatever did happen to that film anyway?!

Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

I thought we already knew that, Mr. Excitement!

I think Tobar's whole point was to Rick-Roll us into clicking on the automatic-blasting-fanfare audio clip of catastrophe.

Which site is that? Looks fine on vudu.

I'be got my fingers crossed for the PT deleted scenes from the DVD to appear in HD. They're listed under "legacy content," but hopefully sourced from a master and not just literally from the DVD.

Don't hold your breath on this one... I'm pretty sure it will be the same DVD deal. BUT DIGITAL!!!

Are we sure that Georgie boy sold SW? This is the kind of BS he would do, I bet he is still having a big wet orgasm with this release just because is the same of business cap he is used to.

Does this digital collection indicate that a "new" box set won't be released in the near future?  At least a box set containing the 2011 versions?  I guess releasing them digitally is cheaper than on a physical format.

Disney may be doing this because they know it'll make money... it's Star Wars after all.

Considering that people already have the blu-rays, I won't be surprised if the sales are poor.

It has the name Star Wars on it, so naturally it will sell record-breaking millions. Remember how many people bought the 2004 DVDs and 2011 Blu-Rays in spite of being the special editions? We just went from fascism to communism. Disney will never release the OOT now; just fucking give up now.

The post you responded to didn't say anything about the OOT or the special editions. The post was talking about whether or not people buy digital downloads of things that they already own on blu-ray, which is not the same topic as the OOT and the Special Editions. What you posted is like responding to an argument about Vader with info on Batman.

I was just comparing some frames from the A New Hope trailer posted on Youtube with the Bluray, and it seems like the color has deteriorated even further, with any remaining yellows drained out of the picture. It may just be the conversion however. There are also some odd details that appear in the trailer that don't appear to be in the blu-ray, despite the lower bitrate of the trailer, and details visible on the Blu-ray that are erased on the trailer. It's very odd, almost like they took another crack at the noise reduction algorithm and sharpening, though I don't know why they would.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

Well, those were censored out of fear of offending people, so from the business perspective of a children oriented company I can understand (although I don't endorse) their decisions regarding Song of the South and Fantasia.

There's no reason to not release the OOT other than that they for some reason feel that it'd be a waste of time.

What I'm really curious about is wether they will release the deleted scenes that were only on the DVD in HD. Those would be useful for fanediting since they always stick out as SD on an HD fanedit.

Why would they do that? They upscaled the "new" scenes from 480i to 1080p in episode 1 and they look like shit. When they didn't re-do the scenes for the movie, I don't think they'll do it for some online bonus features.

One interesting point: I'm seeing the movies on Vudu, and they are all available under Disney Movies Anywhere except ANH. I guess Fox retained distribution rights or at least digital distribution rights in the purported deal that was made in the late 90s to transfer the copyright to Lucasfilm?

Or because Lucas was a cock-stain and put it in writing the OOT can never be released again.

It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher

I stumbled across this on Google Play and ANH is available.

I agree. Lucas is a pure sadist and I'm 100% certain that OOT clause is in that Disney contract. We'll have to spend the rest of our lives stuck with fan preservations until the end of time.
