I hope so, because I thought you had some great ideas in your TPM edit.
Disney has announced that the Star Wars saga will shortly be available for HD digital download on various services (iTunes, Google, Amazon, etc). Included with the downloads will be special features, including the deleted scenes from the Prequel trilogy (which were noticeably absent from the bluray release).
I'm wondering if anyone knows whether or not those deleted scenes will be the ones from the original DVD releases and if theywill be HD as well. Part of the reason I never bothered to update my Episode I edit, or do my Episodes II and III edits was because the deleted scenes I required were not available in HD.

Would love to see Hal9000's edits with HD deleted scenes.
Did Lucasfilm have the foresight to finish those scenes in HD though?
Where were you in '77?
I really hope so, I'd love to redo my edit.

The Phantom Menace deleted scenes were finished in HD, but, with the other two, only AOTC had any of the deleted scenes with completed effects and those were apparently only done in SD unfortunately ( apart from the senate scene was was supposed to have been done in HD) .

You bet, if they're going to be available. Adywan's words are a little discouraging. But we'll find out in a few days.
I know several editors upscaled the SD deleted scenes to integrate them into HD edits. It's not perfect but it gets the job done. Maybe that's what we'll be getting from Disney.

They shot it in HD to begin with so yes they have them.. They just did not finish some of the Effects in HD.
I would think Lucasfilm's SD master for the deleted scenes would at least be better than the reencode that got put on DVD. Y'know?
Is anyone in a position yet to report back on this?
No luck. A TF.N user reports all legacy content is presented in SD. No word on how it compares to the DVD in terms of gritty detail, but fundamentally the same.
How about the audio on these. Are they stereo or surround? If it's surround is there a clean centre channel?

What are you referring to, exactly?
Adywan had reported that they were SD, and it turns out aren't any different/better than what we already have from the DVDs.
