Now there are two of them.

Somebody that I sortof know was just found guilty of intentionally smothering her 3 month old baby.  We weren't friends or anything (which is a relief) but I still knew of her.  She seemed so normal, to everybody.  Nobody in the community would have ever thought this was possible of her.  She was generally liked and nobody was ever suspicious of her.  It's shocking and shaking to the community.

I LOVE THAT CARTOON!!!

My dad taped it off of PBS when I was a kid and it has been one of my favorites for as long as I can remember.

Apple core.

I should release a song called "Wash, Rinse, Repeat". The lyrics would consist solely of the line "Wash, rise, repeat" repeated ad nauseum for three minutes straight. The instrumentation would consist of only the same two notes struck on a keyboard over-and-over again.

It'd surely be a hit -- half of today's popular music is just like that.

You could probably get Duran Duran to cover it ....... they need something to put them back on the grid.

Why the f*** did we need to make a petition to get Bingo back?  The forum has been nice and fine and peaceful without him.

I've lost the newest memory card I have for my camera. Clearly there's a small wormhole that sucks up small items the minute you begin to look for them.

Where were you in '77?

I hate that wormhole.

Some of us find his dry wit amusing, at least when it pertains to non-political/non-religious subjects.

I guess one of the reasons I don't is that I suck at humor.   But I do believe there times and situations when wit, dry or otherwise, doesn't belong in political/relgious subjects.   These can be very sensitive subjects sometimes one must proceed with caution, something Bingo never seemed to understand.

I will agree with you that Bingo seems to lack tact. Last spring/summer, I mentioned that a number of my female cats had lost litters of kittens; his response was less than sensitive.

I disagree. One of the main purposes of humor is to desecrate, one should be able to have a laugh even at very serious matters. Nothing should ever be "untouchable", because if you can't joke about X then you can't joke about Y, Z and so on. Then what?

I don't trust anyone who takes life too seriously.

If your faith/opinions are strong, no joke will bother you, small or big, tasteful or tasteless.

“Nobody has the right to not be offended. That right doesn't exist in any declaration I have ever read.

If you are offended it is your problem, and frankly lots of things offend lots of people.

I can walk into a bookshop and point out a number of books that I find very unattractive in what they say. But it doesn't occur to me to burn the bookshop down. If you don't like a book, read another book. If you start reading a book and you decide you don't like it, nobody is telling you to finish it.

To read a 600-page novel and then say that it has deeply offended you: well, you have done a lot of work to be offended.”

I'd like to bitch about bitching about bingowings in two different threads.  One is more than enough!

That is indeed true, but as I am not easily offended (really offended, that is), I tend to be no more than annoyed by it, in general, and not enough that his good posts are overshadowed by that one (significant) flaw.
