^It's not badly made. The artist obviously wished to convey the idea that the fabric of reality is breaking down, causing people, places, and things from beyond the space-time continuum to bleed through into our world, releasing extradimensional shapes and energies our brains cannot wholly percieve in the process.

I just posted it because it's absolute absurdity made me chuckle.

LOL! You should totally borrow that. ;)

I find it weird that so many SW fans imagined this guy

as a disreputable type when they first saw the movie. I thought he was a pretty benign-looking character from the beginning, even before I read about the EU's "Momaw Nadon" backstory.

He's always going to be Hammerhead to me. It was cool seeing the Kenner version as a background character in Rebels. :)

As the cantina came off as a bit of a sleazy dive, one makes presumptions about the patrons. (Obi Wan did say the place was a little rough.) You don't see too many moisture farmers hanging out.

I'm surprised there weren't any scantly clad cocktail waitresses.

Hammerhead used to do a great Alanis Morissette impression...

Speaking of which, they're still doing quite a number of variants for these Star Wars comics. While deciding on what cover to use in my review of the issue, I went with one that I felt really embodied the spirit of the story.

But I have to say, I really dug this one:

I really love Alex Ross' take on Star Wars. I hope someone gives him the opportunity to paint an entire comic someday.

I agree.  That is a fantastic piece.  Fully captures the spirit of the 1977 film.  For me, the best of the comic variants by far. I love that she's lifted from the original one-sheet.

A TFN poll asks whether the forum-goers prefer to refer to Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi as Obi-Wan or as Ben.

I can't really I'm surprised, but I am dismayed to see that most of the respondents simply say "Obi-Wan" without further elaboration or justification.

It shows the way the PT takes precedence in their minds... if more of them had been introduced to SW 1977 first, they might follow Luke in thinking of him as "Ben" first and foremost.

My own preference, for the record, is to distinguish between Obi-Wan Kenobi (the character in the theatrical version of SW 1977) and Ben Kenobi (his actual name as given in the 1975 third draft).

Ben Kenobi, for instance, is a cyborg with a mechanical right hand like Luke's in ROTJ; but Obi-Wan is not.

I might as well ask: What are the feelings of the OT.com community on the question of General Kenobi's name?

I always just refer to him as Old Ben.

I prefer Ben. "Obi-Wan" has become so hopelessly tainted by the PT that's it's impossible for me to use it without bringing to mind those awful movies.

Hey! I might have wanted that deleted text!

No, nor the game I looked for, either.

Nonetheless, it will serve. Yes, it will serve.

I use "Obi-Wan," simply because that's how I was introduced to him, and that is the name used by multiple people in the OT (at least two, anyway).

It's my personal property. Just like Stephen King and his disinherited novel Rage, I have the right to withhold it from the public if I so wish.

George Lucas? Is that you? ;)

Don't be ridiculous.

On another note, I like how the SW Blu-Ray box set at least includes a good chunk of the OT deleted scenes. (Unlike some other big-name Blu-Ray releases I could name.) Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered buying it.

Heck, it's even got deleted scenes which were quite obviously cut from other deleted scenes... although the descriptions in the menus don't make that explicit.
