Puggo - Jar Jar's Yoda said:

Nimoy was also one of my favorite Columbo villains.

I read elsewhere that was the only episode where the usually unflappable Lt. Columbo lost his cool when confronting the suspect.

This may be the ultimate tribute to Mr. Nimoy. From an astronaut aboard the space station...

Where were you in '77?

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I absolutely agree. He wasn't the most well known actor on the planet, but he played very big roles in very big films. He was actually one of the actors I always said that if I was a director, I'd try to find a role for.

I primarily remember him from Malcolm in the Middle and Lord of Illusions; I particularily loved his performance in the latter.

Sad to hear. I always liked the soundtrack to David Lynch's Dune.

Chuck "Concrete Charley" Bednarik

05/01/1925 - 03/21/2015

The greatest Philadelphia Eagle of them all.   One of the toughest players in NFL history.   He once laid on Frank Giford just about the great hit in NFL history.  Poor Frank Giford had to be carried off the field in a stretcher.   Chuck Bednarik was the last 60 minute man in the NFL.   That his, is the last player to play for both the Offense and Defense in the NFL.  Concrete Charley made the last tackle to win for the Eagles the 1960 NFL Championship Game.  He laid on Greenbay player Jim Taylor until the clock ran out and said "You can get up now, Taylor, this f***ing game's over!".

Mr. Bednarik, you will be missed.  R.I.P.  : (

Geoffrey Lewis - 79

He probably had what could be considered the best resume an actor could ask for. He appeared in countless films in so many great roles. Sad to hear he's gone.

^I didn't know the guy's name before now, but I found him instantly familiar. One Google search later, and I find out he's Juliette Lewis' father.

I'm often good at recognizing the faces of actors I've seen before -- even if I've only seen one or two of their roles in the past -- but this has got to be the first time I've recognized an actor through their children.

He's a hard face to miss. You go down the list of movies he's been in, and it's insane. He was definitely a character actor, but he was the king of character actors. He didn't just do bit parts either. He's definitely a familiar face if you watch a lot of Clint Eastwood films from the 70's and 80's.
