I'm not the sort to get all saddy sad when a famous person dies, even one whose work I'm fond of.

But this is making me quite melancholy. RIP Mr. Nimoy.

;( Sad... sad.... I knew it would happen sooner than later, but... I dunno, I was kind of hoping he'd see Star Trek's 50th...

Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

Sad times.

I had a feeling it was coming with his failing health, but it's still a shock and hard to believe it's true.

I had the opportunity to view a gallery of his and participate in a group Skype conversation with him on his last birthday (we sang to him, it was quite fun). He was very kind and gracious. He signed off with a live long and prosper, something I believe I will never forget.

Very sad.

Ditto what Boost wrote. As someone who never got into Trek, I'm really sad he's gone. He was a huge chunk of pop culture.

Some how this makes it even more sad.

I was watching the news waiting for stuff like this. The best I heard was them saying Nimoy's last role was Star Trek 2009. Didn't hear one "Doctor Spock".

Naturally I'm currently halfway through rewatching Wrath of Khan.

VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.

I do have to say it would have been epic if he had been in Star Wars.

He invented the Vulcan salute and nerve pinch so he contributed to Star Trek beyond the fine job he did acting, writing, and directing.

This is such a sad day.  I think I will have to watch Voyage Home to cheer myself up. Wrath of Khan is too sad on a day like today.

I'm showing my classes episodes of "In Search Of" today.

The world has lost a brilliant actor, great director, great storyteller, great photographer and a great human being.

Even though it's illogical, rest in piece Mr. Nimoy.

I just watched this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dULOjT9GYdQ 5 times to cheer me up

From personal experience, I knew what his health issues were from years of smoking. It still doesn't lessen the blow.

I've been a Trek fan my entire life, longer than I've been a Star Wars fan, so I'm definitely "old school". My earliest tv memory is Spock walking down an Enterprise corridor. The character was a huge part of my childhood.

One of my cherished possessions is a Wrath of Khan Spock mug my Mom gave me for my birthday many years ago.

I was in the middle of rewatching the animated series, but I think I need to pause for a while.

If Doctor Demento was still on the radio, one of Nimoy's songs would probably be #1 this weekend.

Where were you in '77?

Most random piece of Nimoy trivia I heard - he was the director of Three Men and a Baby.

Very sad news. I'm going to miss him.

I still remember the issue of the old Star Trek Communicator which announced DeForest Kelley's passing back in 1999. Sixteen years haven't made the death of one's favorite actors much easier to bear.

Here's to you, Leonard Nimoy.

“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”

Gosh, this makes me very sad.

"Remember."

We'll never forget.

Yeah, I was holding out hope he'd get cast in one of the future entries of the sequel trilogy. That's out the window now, though ...

Oh, well, I'll spiritually cast him in my ST re-write when I get around to writing it someday.
