Unless you start selling meth.

Don't do that.

But in all seriousness, why did you leave your job at wal mart?

Well the guy threatening me with a knife was friends with some of management and they came down on me for the fact that he wasn't doing his job.  He was in charge of making him do his job but I got threatened by him and in trouble with management every time. They then came down on me for not getting his work down for it.  I tried to report this to corporate but they never returned my emails or phone messages.  then it turned out this guy was buddies with some officers who work for the state police and they started to harass me in the parking lot and call in false complaints about me being rude to costumers and such to get me into trouble.

it was at this time my dad got really sick and I wasn't able to get my meds.  Management decided to make things hard on me by giving me hours that I had told them I could not work because I was needed at home.  i tried for months to solve the problem but one day right after threatened and yelled at by management yet again the stress became too much.  I had a full blown panic attack and dropped to the ground outside the store, when people started bugging me about it I flipped out and just threw my name badge and discount card away and ran off in the middle of my shift.  I now know how stupid that was and I wish I had handled it better.  I know how insane this all sounds but it really happened.  Needless to say I could not go back after that and since my mom needs her job there I couldn't really make any trouble for them.  Plus it was just my word against there's and they had the police on their side.

Still I guess there was some justice in the end.  The store became such a disaster area that a new manager was brought in and about a year later the guy who made all the trouble for me threatened her and she called the local police and he was a arrested.  I don't know what happened to him after that.

I have tried applying there again but because I walked off the job the computer reject my application.  I talked to the new manager and she said she understood but because of the way the system is set up and corporate never got involved she can't do anything to change that.  So Wal-Mart is out.

I know this was a long winded post but it really was a long story as to why I left Wal-Mart.

Ouch, that sucks. If you've given the truth straight up, then I think we understand your (lack of) work situation a bit better now.

He does brandish a loaded shotgun at all times.

The state police came all the way to your local wal mart just to harass you in the parking lot?  That's... odd.

All the way?  You make it sound like state police officers don't exist anywhere specific and have to travel a long way to come to any local place.

Also, he mentioned they were friends of this guy.

I dunno it could be true but the whole story just sounds fishy to me.  For one why would the local police help her but not him?/why did he not try the local police?

Also, a more important plot hole in this story, I currently work for wal-mart in customer service, I can tell you from experience that getting in contact with Wal-Mart corporate is not difficult.  However, as his story is from the past, it is possible that they have... opened their doors a little wider in a manner of speaking since this incident.

Yeah Delaware is a small state and the police have a few stations and the area I live in is only about a 25 minute drive from Dover, the capital of the state.  I got the impression that they were in the area on business of their own and just swung by. I'm sorry I didn't have the guts to ask them what they were doing.

As for why I didn't use the local police it didn't cross my mind, I was under a lot of stress at the time.  My mom was having to spend a lot of time up in PA with my dad taking care of things because my dad was in such rough shape he wasn't able to stay awake long enough to listen to what the doctors said half the time.

I know quitting was a big screw up and I can't tell you what happened except that I left emails and messages with corporate that told them I was being threatened by a coworker and never got a response.

I know it sounds made up but all I can tell you is that it happened and I know I have only myself to blame for screwing things up but I was just trying to explain why I made the bad choice at the time.

I would be more inclined to believe you if you hadn't included the detail that wal mart corporate never returned your calls or emails.  This is not consistent with my experience, but like I said I suppose wal mart could have made it easier to get in contact with them in recent years.

Maybe, that could be it.  As I said this was in 2010.

Or it could be that our district manager is just lazy or something, every store in Delaware seems to have problems of some kind that never get fixed.

I don't know, all I do no is I never got a response from corporate.

This may be a minor point but it has bugged me since I was a kid.  It seems like 99% of the time when I hear someone talk about Star Trek they call it Star TRACK.  Trek and Track are two completely different words that have completely different meanings.  It bugs me every time I hear it.

Must be a Delaware thing 'cause I've not noticed that.

That's how I used to pronounce it myself when I too young to know how "trek" was supposed to be pronounced.

People have been doing that since at least the 70's. People used to call Spock Doctor Spock, because of the famous pediatrician with the same name. It did make for an amusing on set photo though.

Still, it's enough to make me want to use the Vulcan Death Grip on some people. ;)

Where were you in '77?

I think that was how they got Nimoy on set to shoot Spock's brain.

I think they were pretending to arrest him, but I like DrCrow's explanation better. ;)
