I have nowhere to go.

It's easy to say that and I have been trying but when you have no money and no one will hire you and you can't go to college because of where youl ive because you have no way to get there and no highspeed to take the third of the courses online that are required then it is is easier said then done.

I know I am just a whiny stupid bitch so I will stop complaining.

Sorry to have bugged everyone.  I am better off then a lot of people so I will just stop letting these things bother me.

Sorry.

Of course it's easier said than done! If it wasn't, everyone would be perfectly happy with their lives.
But you gotta try, man!

I know I am just a whiny stupid bitch so I will stop complaining.

Oh, god. I knew you'd react this way.
It makes you very hard to talk to.

I do like that you think of me as "everyone" though.
You're on the right track with that.

Yeah well I spend most of every day applying for work and looking for some way to get into college, I have been doing this for about five years while doing the odd temp job when they come up.  Still all this does involve a lot of waiting around for the phone to ring and that is what I am more then a little tired of.  it's not that I am lazy or refuse to work, I love work and school, It's just there are not that many jobs right now.

Sorry, I will not say any more about it.

I wish to b**** about people that bump old threads for no reason and thus make it difficult to find the threads that are in current use.

I wish to bitch about people who don't care what was said about cellphones a decade.

THINK OF THE CHILDREN, THIS HISTORY MUST BE PRESERVED!!!

Bumping old threads isn't about preserving history.   The old thread still exists whether it is bumped or not.   It is already preserved.

As far I know, threads do not disappear from the last page as a new thread is created.

btw, what you doing now is really pissing me off.  You had your fun, and I put many of threads currently in use back on the front page.  Now, you are doing it again.  Please stop.  I don't want to have to take this to the mods.

I only responded to old threads where other people including you had responded and we have a conversation going.

Take a look at the Rocky VI thread and you will see what I mean.

ok, I looked at the threads you recent posted in, I see what you mean.

I really, REALLY hate it when people are rude to cashiers for any reason.  I used to be one, and it pisses me off when I see other customers doing it.  Cashiers have NO power, NO say, NO input.  Is it their fault the lines are long?  No.  Do you think they just went to the boss and asked, "hey, do you mind if I can be the only lane open today?  I'll take them all, thanks."  Oh your coupon to save 50 cents didn't work?  Oh that's a shame, it must be the cashiers fault for messing with your eyes in a way that prevented you from reading the english on the coupon.  Oh the items a piece of crap and didn't work?  The cashier will try to do better the next time they design the merchandise.  Oh your card was declined or your check bounced?  I'm terribly sorry, the cashier will do their best not to rob your bank accounts before you come into the store next time.  Oh no they made a mistake and you had to wait 5 minutes for a manager to come correct it?  I guess not everybody has gone for their whole career without screwing up.

The amount of shit cashiers have to put up with is astounding, and I always go out of my way to be as nice as possible to cashiers and if anybody I know is ever mean to them it pisses me off, it's called decency.  The cashier is a human being (much as customers like to pretend they don't exist and that they are just an automated checkout machine... oh until they need help that is!)

Also it kills me the people that look down on cashiers and treat them as unintelligent and lower class... then can't look at the credit/debit card reader and figure out what to do!  Every time that happens I wish the they would say "Oh, I wouldn't know anything about that I'm just a cashier, you're smart you can do it!"

In short, the lack of common courtesy and basic decency to other human beings in the world today is astounding.

One thing to remember is that although the cashier may not be personally responsible for whatever has gone wrong,  when the cashier is on duty and wears the uniform or name badge of the company he/she respresents the company to the customer.   Some of these things you talk about here are things that the customer has every right to complain about.  The Cashier is the easiest person to find that respresents the company to the customer.

Also there are times when the cashier is at fault.  An example:  at Christmas time a couple of years ago I was trying to buy something at Bed Bath and Beyond.   I got into very long and slow line.   After waiting in line for a long time, I was almost at the front of the line.  Then after waiting so long and getting so close to the front of the line,  the cashier announces that she is closing the register everyone in back of the person that was right in front me has to go to the back of another long, slow moving line.   I regret to say I lost it.  I yelled at the cashier and decided to take my business somewhere else.  I release that maybe the cashier was near the end of her shift or had to take a meal break or something like.  But why couldn't she call someone else over to take her spot?   Why couldn't she have made clear that she would be closing the register and not anyone after the person in front of me?   Why couldn't she have gotten someone to make sure no one else got into line after the last person she intended to serve?  Finally, with the store as crowded and busy as it was, no register should be closes for any amount of time.   They had all registers open and they all had long lines.   Imho, it was unacceptable to make me wait for a long time only to fine out I had to go to the back of another long line and wait even longer.  That is just not the way to do things.

There's a difference between complaining and being downright rude.  I'm not talking about when a customer asks for an explanation for why they couldn't save 50 cents on tater tots.  I'm talking about when that person receives the explanation that oh, turns out the coupon was in english after all, and they got the wrong item (which is understandable, it happens.  But what isn't acceptable:) so they start yelling at the cashier and taking out their frustration on them.

When a customers card or check bounces, it is NEVER the cashiers fault.  Ever.  They have NO influence over that.  (I'm talking specifically about a card being declined for insufficient funds here, I'm not referring to when a card is incorrectly entered into the system or is punched into the system with the wrong numbers or is ran as the wrong type of card)  Cashiers do NOT have the power to approve or deny cards, which is a concept some people don't understand.  Their card is declined for insufficient funds, so they immediately start yelling at the cashier and telling them they did something wrong.  "Invalid Card", "Wrong Card Number" "Card Read Error" may be the cashier, or more likely the computer-operated registers fault.  "Insufficient funds" is NEVER the cashiers fault.

Also something alot of customers don't understand is just how much control the computer/register has.  If the store policy is you cannot buy gift cards in the same ticket as anything else, then that's it.  You CAN'T do it.  The register will not let you, and no matter how badly the cashier may wish to oblige you, this breach of store policy is not even possible.

Like at some (maybe all?) wal-marts you can only buy tobacco at certain registers.  Some customers throw a fit and demand an exception be made for them.  It is literally not possible. The register will not let the cashier do it even if they did think this customer should be immune to the rules.

Talking down to a cashier is a sure sign that you're an ignorant piece of shit as well.  And while the cashier in your story absolutely handled the situation incorrectly and you had every right to be angry, this is not the 'typical' situation of cashier bullying I was referring to.

Yeah well said, I had about five years as a cashier at Wal-Mart and I saw it all.  There wasn't a single case where someone yelled at me where there was anything I could do about it.  In most cases the manager couldn't either because it was corporate policy so the computers just would not let it happen.  I once had an old lady curse me out for five minutes because I could take a fifteen year old coupon. That's not my fault.

Oh and if your card is declined in most stores that isn't the cashier's fault these days because you are the one sliding the card in the reader and entering all the information, if it screws up it is your fault not the cashier's.

Oh and we have no power over whole is working when. If someone calls in sick the law says the manager can not punish them.  The law also says how many breaks the cashiers have to take per shift and when they have to take them and the laws don't leave any room to move that stuff around, at every place I have ever worked at once the law says the cashier has to go on break the register locks them out and because people want low prices the store can't pay two people to work each register all day just to cover the breaks.

You want shorter lines here is what you do. First you have to be willing to see prices go up so the store can hire more people.  Second you need to write your congressman and demand that companies be given the right to fire people for calling in sick, and for being lazy without having to pay for their unemployment.  The fact is the lazy people get away with what they do because of how hard it is to fire them and the fact that in most states if the company fires them they have to keep paying them through unemployment until they find a new job, so most companies figure that they may as well keep the lazy people on and at least get some work out of them.  It a real problem because once the lazy people figure this out they know there is nothing that their bosses can do to them.

Personally I am sick of these so called "people" dragging this country down and I think anyone who is convicted of being lazy should be run through their work place naked and whipped by their coworkers.  That is what kept order in the British Navy for over two hundred years and kept people working hard.  the fact is people only work if they are scared we need to start punishing the lazy and make them wish they were dead.  Then all of our problems will be fixed.
