It was the only episode of that series I would count as really good Star Trek so I am not surprised it has fans.
When you are dealing with a series that is a dull and badly written as Voyager you have to take what you can get.

Are you saying Vulcans can't be black?
Um....how am I supposed to answer that?

Ugh, more people who like "The Thaw".

Honestly?

Use words.
My mistake, I meant to say Klingon, I was drunk. And I can't stand her disrespect. I've seen all of TNG and most of DS9, but she was at their mercy and should have been a prisoner, and instead they let her join the crew and she shows her gratitude by constantly acting like she's better than them.
What's wrong with "The Thaw"? I liked it alot, it was pretty weird but it was also somewhat intense, which is something severely lacking in most of Voyager so far. Plus it was at least creative and not too technobabbly.

Were it up to me, full-blooded Vulcans wouldn't be any Terran colour, be it white, black, or any shade in between.

It's called a character flaw. It lends itself to conflict. They can't all be practically 24th century perfect in every way. ;)
Where were you in '77?
Unfortunately nine times out of ten Voyager sees conflict and drama coming and runs as fast as it can in the other direction, so character flaws do not get plots built around them and the characters never learn anything so they just make us want to slap the character hard across the face.
Why slap, when you can do terrible things to the Voyager crew in the old Elite Force PC game? ;)

Oh, believe me I have.
I have a video on Youtube that is nothing but me killing Neelix on the Holodeck:)

Oh I know, I just don't like her particular character. Just once, when she addressed somebody as "Starfleet", I wanted them to respond with "Yes, bitch that should be in the brigg for the next 70 years but we kindly let function as an equal?"
Yeah don't forget she belongs to a group that on DS9 launched bio weapons at civilian targets so I wouldn't put up with any sort of garbage like that from her if I were the starfleet crew on Voyager.
That's just straight ignant, dawg.
I didn't too like the idea of a black Vulcan - but no, it has nothing to do with "terran racism", I had huge problems with the white Andorians from Enterprise (how were they called?). It's because it was different what we've seen before - I mean always humans were having different races, but Vulcans were always white (or yellow-white or what's the correct term for Spock's skin colour), Klingons were always black (even though in TOS era they were played by white guys with dark make up), Orions were always green, Bolians were always Blue, just like Andorians ...
If they originally in the 60's defined that there are different races on all (or most) planets I wouldn't have a problem with a black Vulcan (or white Andorian...). It just feels "weird". But Tim Russ is a fine actor, and he was a good Vulcan (even when he was a bit too emotional in some episodes). I hate when they change things (like the Remans who were always the same race as the Romulans and Vulcans but suddenly after Nemesis they're vampires :-(
The only problem I have with Tuvac, is he, or perhaps coincidentally he was an extra that later got a bigger role in voyager, appeared in the beginning of the film "Generations" as a regular person who was not a vulcan. Although I could easily be remembering that wrong, but the last time I watched Generations I could have sworn he was on the bridge but wasn't a vulcan.
It's Tuvok, not Tuvac, and you remember correctly. The actor who played Tuvok was in Generations as an unnamed human (Which is odd considering the Voyager episode "Flashback", which aired two years after Generations was in theaters, showed that Tuvok was in Starfleet at that point of history.), a human mercenary named Devor in the TNG episode "Starship Mine" and a klingon named T'Kar in the DS9 episode "Invasive Procedures". The Mirror Universe counterpart of Tuvok also appears in DS9.
Nobody sang The Bunny Song in years…
He also auditioned for the role of Geordi when TNG was being cast. Berman and company clearly kept his phone number.
I crack up when watching Starship Mine, as I imagine Picard is beating up Tuvok now.
Tuvac was a famous Klingon opera singer who faked his death to increase album sales. ;)

Oh and I think that's the same episode where Picard beats up Leeta from Babylon 5. Was he just being a bullying to anyone who dared to star in another Sci-Fi series that week.

Easy to forget G'Kar was also Tomalak. ;)
And Majel Barrett guest starred on B5 even.

Oh yeah, How could I forget that!
Oh and don't forget Bester.
I loved seeing Patricia Tallman on Trek. She had only minor roles, to be sure, but I was fond of her even before I saw B5, so it was a joy to see her pop up on TNG & DS9 from time to time.
I saw the Fast Seven trailer during the Superbowl and was reminded that the next star trek could be as stupid.
Bayformers level stupid. So bad that people will think JJ Abrams Trek movies were good.
There has been remarkably no news since the new director was hired. Unlike Star Wars and Bond.
