The man is clearly using Google Translate. Let's not make fun of him for not knowing English.

That's not what I was doing.  Though I may have misunderstood what he was trying to say.

I apologize. I interpreted his first two posts to the forum as something more negative than they apparently were.

I'm pretty sure the Soviet dub is available on rutracker, already synced to 1977 Star Wars, so it should fit with Harmy's version.

Ok, not so sure now. But you can try.

I've got the Soviet dub synced to this project, if you don't already have it.

Stereo, edited speed so that the pitch was correct.

that's right. Why stereo? there is dual mono. And the cliffs also replaced a stereo?

can look for another source of Soviet dubbing on forum. Maybe someone else has it.

I'll do the rest via PM.

I listened to, it's not from my source here in the opening credits of error 2 signals not synchronously.

Good idea to remove links from your posts here, it's against the rules.

Especially with the Russian audio, the fanfare was damaged or partial in my sources, so it's patched over from another source.

Update:

Asked a designer buddy of mine for some tweaks, and apart from the "selected button" and "activated button" highlights (which aren't on there because I haven't gotten to them yet) I'd say this is a pretty solid final design. What do you guys think?

(Full size)

The basic design is fine.  I would make the translucent gray bar behind the track selection shorter (bring it in a few pixels, top and bottom), so that the thin empty line below it is taller, if that makes sense.  Right now it reads as a 1-pixel line, and it looks uncomfortable.

I agree. It's a nice, clean layout though.
Is the pic of Han with the goofy face just a place holder for another image?
How about using the classic logo for each film?

He's running full screen footage behind the interface, so it's a placeholder.

I think the idea is that it's a pop-up menu that would display over top of the film as it plays when you hit the menu button. So it's a placeholder of sorts, but if you hit the menu button during that scene, that's how it would appear.

I like and appreciate a Blu-ray popup menu as much as the next guy, and would like to see it included, but I think a menu that comes up before the movie starts would fit what I think Harmy is aiming for better (and I think is what is actually being discussed anyway).  If someone wants to nostalgically view Star Wars in the original Klingon, it would be a bit of a disservice to force them to fumble through options in a popup menu as the opening text is already flying by and the Blockade Runner and Star Destroyer are on their way.

AFIK, the idea is that the (main/audio) menu will be "the same" in general appearance as the "popup" one shown - when you put in the disc, you'll get the menu + background clip. When you move to "audio," for example, you'd see the bar with the options there. After picking a track, you would then start playback. The "popup" is simply for changing during playback.
For example, say you wanted to hear commentary - you'd start it with that. Say you got bored of it. You could easily switch back to your language / track of choice during playback.

My initial idea for the menus was more "full screen," but I do have to say that the idea of a simple bar that covers less screen area is arguably a much, much better choice for playback,  and will also suit the "main menu" screen nicely.

Yeah, that is what I meant.

Just had a thought, for the background video during the initial menu, what clips do people have in mind?  Being that this is the DeEd, would shots of before, during and after restoration be something we'd like to see, or do we want to look past that the SE's even exist and have just choice clips from the restored film?  This project seems to always walk a fine line of wanting to focus on only the originals mattering and lauding the truly impressive achievement of undoing such heinous alterations.

This is just my two cents, but when I pop in a despecialized edition, the last thing I want to see on my screen is any trace of any "special edition".
