I get it, but again: see this news with the eyes of a person that lives in a town where it NEVER EVER snows. I used to DREAM of seeing snow when I was a child.

I guess wishing for it, at the beginning of December, like every year, finally paid off. :)

We've guaranteed there won't be any snow in my area this year.  We bought a nice new snow blower.   Now that we are well prepared for the snow, I know it won't happen.

Well for Christmas I got bluray copies of Fargo, Xmen first class, Xmen days of Future past, Guardians of the Galaxy, and a copy of Skyfall to replace the one my brother barrowed and forgot he barrowed and thus never returned.

Also for the first time in a few weeks I am feeling happy today, so that is all good news.

My family went to the American History Museum and right inside the door they had costumes, a script, and a matt painting from my forth favorite film of all time, The Adventures of Robin Hood! Needless to say I had a good time:)

Here are some pictures:)

Yeah it is.  Can someone tell me if they know what size photos work best on this forum because I just noticed that half of my photos are cut off.

Thanks.

700 is a pretty good width to go with i've found when inserting images here. Leave the height blank and it'll adjust the height automatically.

Yeah it was kind of hard to read but yes it was original notes from the costume designer about fittings and colours and that sort of thing, I wish i could remember the exact words but my camera is a cheap $30 model and it was behind glass.

I have to say it was really cool seeing that stuff, I have been watching that movie since I was a kid and the matt painting in particular was really cool.

I just couldn't believe they had that stuff there.

Cool stuff, Crow.  Is that a picture of you, Dr?

Yep, that is my ugly mug.

Had to get a shot in front of that stuff, this was just too cool.

Yeah that comes from growing up watching old movies and British Tv shows. I grew up thinking the heroes in those sort of things looked cool and I loved the way someone like John Steed could just brush himself off and walk away after a fight scene so as soon as I was allowed to choose my own clothes that is how I dressed myself.

It's funny looking at old family photos because when I am a kid I am dressed in typical 80s and 90s clothes and then around age ten I seem to jump back in time about 40s years! :)  What can I say? it works for me.

I finally have a Beta on Fanfiction.net and he is proving to be a big help!

He is helping me become a better writer so I can finally get my novel ideas into shape.

This really is a fun and non boring way to become a better writer if you can't find any creative writing classes in your area.

My goal is to have one of my original novels in a ready to be published form for the Kindle by the end of the year.

Wish me luck.

Kind of.  They are someone who reads your chapters for you and looks for spelling and grammar mistakes that you missed and comes up with ways for you to better tell your story and just in general helps you with feedback like pointing out plot holes.

I have always been my own beta, rereading my chapters after posting them but it is much easier when there is another person there who doesn't know how you have the story planned out in your head and can bring their perspective to the story and chapter.  It really helps with fixing plot holes and making the story more clear.

It is exactly what I needed so I am very happy about this and it is not only making my stories on the site better, but making me a better writer overall.

Pretty much but they are called Betas on the site because they don't make any edits themselves.  They just bring up things you need to edit.

I know this doesn't seem like a big deal, given that it's just a fan fiction site but it feels like one to me right now because it is a big help and it feels great to be working with someone for a change.

I am using the site to improve my writing over all so I can become a better writer and get my novels in a shape that is read to be published.

I'm still alive! AND I'm about to eat an entire rotisserie chicken, and it's going to be fantastic.
