Did you split it into separate rars?

No-in retrospect that was pretty stupid to attempt a one single file upload without any way to see the download progress.

You're better off just making a straight torrent of it, since all your peers will be presumable. Then ask someone else with a more reliable connection to put it on usenet, or mega, etc.

I took a quick look at it and there's some very creative work there. I'd definitely watch it as part of a "fun" view of the saga, alongside stuff like the "Funked Up" TPM, Grindhouse ANH, etc. I don't mean it to sound derogatory, just that it looks more like a fun option than a theatrical cut.

My stance on revising fan edits.

Myspleen isn't working for me either anymore. That sucks. Anyone know why that happens?

Anyone want to PM me a fresh invite?

I tried watching it last night and it was barely watchable for me.  Partly because I remembered all the edits I made, partly because I spliced in footage and music from other films and while that didn't used to bother me, it does now.  Partly because the ADR work would have needed to have been redone professionally, and probably because for what I was trying to do, additional footage would have had to have been shot.

I was just trying to make the most out of the movie; I think someone said it best when they said it was a great "proof of concept."  In terms of the music flowing and the editing making sense and being synchronized to the music, I'd say this edit ranks up there with the best of them.

Yeah, I remember seeing this edit years ago and took another look at it just now. It's very ambitious but very rough. It's definitely sort of a workprint or proof-of-concept.

The bar sequence is great. Probably my favorite part of the edit. Also it innovated the exchange of "I think he's a she" "In that case be extra careful" which I emulated in my own edit.

I actually enjoyed this edit, warts and all. Clones was always my least favorite of the PT but this version... I actually liked it. The pacing was good, the visual editing was not too shabby. I was able to see past the workprint aspect. I didn't even mind the dialogue editing, Anakin's deep voice was good. Jar Jar's voice seemed a bit odd but it didn't bug me that much. Overall a good experience. So, from what I understand, there are no plans to revisit this one?

Thank you; that is what I was hoping for when I made the workprint available.  It was never intended to be shown, but now that it is, I am glad that you see what I was trying to drive at.

No, no plans to return.

I can't take credit for that one; that was "MTHaslett", who I worked with closely on the story for this edit.

I've got to say - I really enjoyed this edit. The opening 30 minutes especially is pretty much perfect in terms of flow, clever re-editing of the dialogue and simply a much more 'fun' watch.

I lost my copy of this.... Argh! Would love to see this again, Myspleen isn't working. The torrent isn't seeding.

Did you upload it elsewhere? Did I miss that somewhere?

I can continue seeding tonight.

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Well all I can offer is MyLiver, and due to personal choices it's probably not in the best shape.

Watched the edit, new voice was way better than that youtube video audition. Liked the way you handled the fight between dooku and yoda at the end. Liked the bar scene but the music seemed odd here (maybe if it were the cantina song but slower with different instruments or something). Really liked the new version of the geonosis battle in the pit (surprised by the re-coloured lightsabers :D) Jar Jar's voice was weird (I would've just cut him completely) and so was the clone's (I don't even know why he was voiced over but you have your reasons). To be honest, in all it's roughness it is my favourite edit of AOTC as I haven't enjoyed any of the versions of this movie that I've seen. Lots of nice surprises throughout and contains some inspiring stuff, this is a very good workprint.

Hello all. I have been a lurker for ages now, and finally decided to create an account to actually contribute. I read through this entire post (I know, it sounds lame) and am very interested in watching the rough cut. The only problem is, I have no MySpleen account. Is there any other place to download the rough cut, and if so, could you direct me there. If there isn't, could you point me in the direction of getting a MySpleen invite. Thank you all, and I hope I didn't sound too needy.

Whatever happened to that other version that somebody made. I remember Trooperman said that someone other than him went in and polished the first twenty or so minutes, up until Obi-Wan jumped out the window. Does that still exist?

Hi Trooperman, I realize its been about a year since your last post and I’ll probably never get a reply but I keep hearing about your fan edits of Episodes 2 and 3 and I hear they are THE DEFINITIVE prequel fan edits. I was REALLY hoping if you or anyone else could inform me on how I could watch them because they’re not on fanedit.org or fanedit.info. Thanks!!!
