Episode III: Revenge of the Ridiculousness — Page 66

For some reason, the end of this scene got messed up in my timeline.  I had to rebuild it, so I redid the end a little differently.  I *may* have gone overboard on the transitions...

*cough* *cough* This scene, despite the censoring, might make the movie, uh...slightly less watchable with some members of my family. :P

Ah, well. I can't expect you to remove it for the benefit of one viewer.

However, some of those censor boxes could stand being extended along the bottom a little. ;) Perhaps you could add more and more black boxes as the scene progresses until you've blacked out the whole frame...

All the other videos that you've posted since are great, though. I love the one with Anakin and Padmé (the one with them together, not the song), and I love Obi-Wan's luck dragon. :)

I'll look at adding a little more to the boxes...just for you. ;-)

Ok guys, time to put on your thinking caps.  Similar to the way I replace "The Force" with "The Wookiees," I need a replacement for "The Dark Side."  Ideally it would be something that I can have multiple people in the ROT say as well.

How about simply "the Darth Side"? :P

I don't get the young Hayden/naked women scene.

What part about it? Why it's in the edit, or just what's going on in it, or why Frink has done what he did with it?

Yes.

Well, I'm not really sure why it's in the edit. It's supposed to be part of Anakin going crazy, but why this particular scene, I don't know. The scene itself involves some nuns, who, having vowed to always remain virgins, but obviously not being very serious about it, decided to take advantage of a rare opportunity to lose their virginity. And Frink has done what he is done because he is Frink and he thought it should be done, I suppose.

Er, is it not obvious that he's having a dream?

Author

Yes, that's obvious, but why that specific dream is less obvious. :P

Dreams are dreams -- they don't have to make sense.

Of course, taking into consideration the whole "forced celibacy" thing the Jedi have going on and all the sexual frustration that must arise from that, I wouldn't be surprised if Annie's subconscious mind pulled up images of usually-chaste nuns giving in to their primal sexuality during sleep.

+1 for "the Darth side," or maybe just "the side," as opposed to the front or back.

I never had the nerve to make the final cut.

 Yes, all of this.

This made me think of The Side Side.

Or, how about The Bad Side?

+1 for "the Side Side".

You could make the light side "the (An)Other Side".

I can't decide between The Bad Side and The Side Side.  The Bad Side makes more sense, but is still silly in a Spaceballs kind of way.  The Side Side makes no sense but that might be a good thing...especially if I can do something like this:

PALPS: I KNOW ALL ABOUT THE WOOKIEES....EVEN THE SIDE SIDE OF THE WOOKIEES.

ANI: THE FRONT SIDE?

PALPS: NO...

ANI: THE BACK SIDE?

PALPS: NO...

ANI: THE SIDE SIDE?

PALPS: YES!!!

For me, jokes become tiring when repeated endlessly. Obi-wan constantly saying 'Obi-wan' can become grating when it disrupts the flow of the new jokes and my brain tries to piece the dialogue together a moment too late. So variation between Bad Side and Side Side is actively encouraged, and I'd go so far as to throw in any old side you want whenever you want, just for variety's sake ;)

I might be wrong but I think this is a perfect example of "you can't please everyone," since many people *love* the Obi-wan third person stuff and can't get enough of it...I think.

I don't think doing both is a good idea.  It's hard to get some of my ideas across without consistency, and I think in this case it would be rather confusing to use both at different times.

^Agreed on the second point.

I don't find the third-person Obi-Wan gag consistently funny, but it really works sometimes, such as when you had Padmé use it in that recent video you posted, and it's good to be consistent.

doubleofive thinks the "Obi-wan" jokes are doubleofive's favorite parts.
